This is a story about Gideon Raines, a man running from years of grief and guilt over the loss of his twin brother, and Dr. Malcolm Jones, a small-town veterinarian seeking a peaceful life. Gideon arrives in the tiny town of Foggy Basin with no plans to stay, but he immediately notices the handsome new vet, Malcolm. Malcolm, who considered himself straight, is intrigued when Gideon stumbles into his clinic and saves the day. He offers Gideon a job, and their unexpected proximity ignites a slow, undeniable attraction. The story sets up a romance where both men are reluctant to open up—Gideon because he plans to leave, and Malcolm because he's afraid to risk his heart—but the growing intensity between them is too dangerous to ignore.
I loved this story with the two men who slowly became friends and then fell in love. I loved how Malcolm helped Gideon to grieve and understand that he had worth and was deserving of love. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story which will cause you to cry. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
