Review: The Barman and the SEAL by R.J. Scott 4 of 5 stars

The Barman and the SEAL

The Barman and the SEAL by R.J. Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a story about Travis Baranski, a Navy SEAL with PTSD, and Avery Gideon, a barman, who find an unexpected connection in a small town. Travis, the first veteran at the Ellery Mountain Veteran Center, is struggling with his trauma and has a public meltdown. Avery, who runs the local bar, steps in to help him. Avery, who is estranged from his family, feels a connection to Travis's pain and quickly falls in love with him.

I loved this romance where Avery is determined to help Travis heal and to convince him that he is still capable of love. I loved that Avery was recommended to see a counsellor to help him to understand Travis's PTSD. A lot of feelings and emotions in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
