Review: Kiss-Fist by Cora Rose by E.M. Lindsey 4 of 5 stars

Kiss-Fist

Kiss-Fist by Cora Rose by E.M. Lindsey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Robbie reluctantly joins a gym and immediately regrets it—he hates running, lifting, and the whole fitness scene. The only upside? His attractive personal trainer, Thom, who’s fit, charming, and unfortunately, hearing, while Robbie is Deaf. Robbie has strict rules about dating only those who can communicate in sign language, and despite the physical chemistry, he refuses to compromise. But as Thom begins to show genuine interest—possibly even learning American Sign Language—Robbie starts to reconsider. Thom makes him feel seen and valued in a way few others have. And maybe, just maybe, that’s enough to bend the rules.

I loved this story, which did a reasonable job of highlighting the differences in cultures and mannerisms between the deaf and hearing parts of society. The way that the struggle for Robbie to exercise and Thom with his dyslexia and ADHD were an interesting parallel, as was learning a language compared to learning ASL. There were lots of thoughts and feelings as both men came to terms with their differences. A lot of passion in this MM story with mature content,
