Wanton with a Vampire by Cassandra Lawson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Vampire Aleksandr Draksel (Alek) had avoided commitment for over two hundred years determined to live a life of travel and mindless affairs. All that changed when he met Trish Williams as he is drawn to her even though she is a woman he cannot possibly have. However when she becomes the target of a killer he falls into the role of protector and he is determined to do whatever it takes to keep her safe while resisting the urge to seduce her. Trish had been irritated, flustered and even aroused by Alek from the moment she had met him. As she has no psychic abilities, she knows that they could only ever have a fling and that is not something she does. A broken shoe changes everything for her - and she gained a psychic ability after a near-death experience. Now she is determined to live her life to the full and that includes seducing Alek. Will he be able to resist?
This was a great book that certainly included a lot of drama, emotions and sexual content as Alek and Trish got to work out that they really did belong together. It was fun to read the way they butt heads together but also worked everything out in the end. The historic mystery that they solved was interesting and certainly dramatic in the way it was finally resolved. Well written and easy to read it was simple to pick up the thoughts and the emotions of the characters so that you could live the stories with them.
