Tinley Marigold used to jump at any sound and feared the dark, but since Maverick arrived in the small town of Crumpet Washington almost a year ago, Tinley feels safe. He only wishes that Maverick would tell him the real reason he came to Crumpet. Maverick wasn’t in Crumpet by accident, he was here with a purpose and a job to do. Protect Tinley at all costs. He’s pretty sure that doesn’t mean sleep with the beautiful man. Best laid plans and all. Tinley is like a fever in Maverick’s blood and when a bad man comes calling, he’ll be the deadly force that removes all obstacles.
I loved this novella which gave more insight into why Tinley was so scared. Maverick was wonderfully protective of Tinley and I loved the way his dogs were trained to protect him. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story as Tinley faced his abuser and Maverick faced his feelings. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
