Former SEAL West is alone and running a Krav Maga studio during the day and is teetering on the edge of financial collapse. During the night he battles the demons of the fallen who haunt his dreams. His reprieve is online gaming with Cam at night. Cam was an explosives expert in Afghanistan until one wrong move scarred her for life and so she hides behind her keyboard and cane until the guy she has flirted with persuades her to give him a chance in real life. Then Cam bolts so that she doesn't have to admit she is broken - can West convince her that broken is beautiful?

I enjoyed this story which was good at highlighting the internal and external struggles of returning servicemen and servicewomen plus a little about the stress on their families. I enjoyed the way that their relationship started and it was wonderful to see that beauty is within and so the external is partially irrelevant. Easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content.

In Elizabeth, he sees a lifetime of pain as well as an untrained submissive who also has fire, strength and very fierce intelligence. Happiness is not going to be easy as a billion-dollar tax fraud case threatens both his company and her life. Her scars run deep and not being able to trust him could mean she could lose far more than her chance at love. He'll risk everything for the woman he loves, but Elizabeth is fiercely independent. Will she accept his protection—and his domination? Or will he lose her forever?

I really adored this story with the dominant Alexander and the independent Elizabeth. The mystery of the tax fraud, who was behind it, and how it was going to finally come to a head was skillfully woven into the story of the couple, their relationship, some of their histories before they met, and their sexual relationship including all of the BDSM side of things. I was definitely invested in their relationship and hoped that it would all work out. Clearly written and easy to understand.
