Review: Riptide by Savannah Verte 3 of 5 stars

Riptide (Making Waves Book 8)

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Kayto Eaglefeather has asked Gerri Wilder to find his sister's fated mate for her without her knowledge and so they go on the Paranormal Dating Agency's first-ever singled cruise. However, Kayto might get more than he bargained for. One of the characters from the Making Waves series is going to get an unexpected visitor and he will get more than he bargained for in a very sassy female.

I loved this story with the matches even if they did not have any expectations for themselves on this cruise. Gerri really did surpass herself as it almost felt as if there were watches happening all over the place on this cruise. Both of the twins got their perfect match even though neither of them actually expected to be matched during the cruise. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Overboard by Savannah Verte by Savannah Verte

Overboard (Making Waves, #7; Paranormal Dating Agency World)Overboard by Savannah Verte
My rating: by Savannah Verte
FPU agents are stretched so thin trying to find those who are missing as well as the next destination for their elusive adversary that they have to rely on friends and family to pick in and help too. A side effect of that is that many of the couples start to realise what truly matters to them, although some of the younger members are almost too late - can their young relationships survive? Timing is crucial and every second counts. Leave it to Gerri Wilder of the PDA to stop the clock and match an unsuspecting male in a way he just can’t resist. The bad guy might just have to wait.

This was a great culmination to the second mini-series within the Making Waves series. I enjoyed the way that Gerri managed to match up a couple as part of the story. I did find Taylen very irritating as she seemed to be so focused on her agenda and her needs that overall she was behaving in a very selfish way. I loved the couple that Gerri managed to match in this story and look forward to reading more about them in any future books in the series. Easy to read and understand. Contains a little explicit sexual content at the end.

Review: Ancient Protector by Savannah Verte 3 of 5 stars

Ancient Protector (Making Waves, #6; Federal Paranormal Unit World; Paranormal Dating Agency World)Ancient Protector by Savannah Verte
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After the explosion and fire during the investigation of the Black Bay Channel and the mystery plants, Supervisory Special Agent Fedya Afanasi has a secret that could cost him his position or job. He is hoping the survivor of the blast can offer some answers to what happened but she is not talking. Marietta Gomez has a problem and secrets of her own - whilst she could help the investigation she is actually on the run and has secrets of her own. The stakes are high and climbing as the second mini-mystery in Making Waves reveals allies who aren’t and new adversaries to be investigated. Can the team find the answers they need or are there too many questions yet to solve the puzzle?

I enjoyed this story although it was short and before I realised it was the end of this book and I had to move on to the next. This was certainly full of some surprises and drama that was tempting without actually getting to the real final conclusion - hopefully, the next book in the series will finish the story. I liked Fedya and Marietta and I think they will be a feisty couple in the future. Easy to read and very enjoyable.

Review: Elemental Protector by Savannah Verte 3 of 5 stars

Elemental Protector (Federal Paranormal Unit, #1; Making Waves, #5)Elemental Protector by Savannah Verte
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Elemental Andrej Siminof can see colours whereas normally he is in a back and white world. However, asking for advice ends with him becoming an agent within the FPU on a case that intersects with the world of the family he only recently encountered. Can he find out who is poisoning the waterways and walk the fine line between an agent or his destiny? Marine Botanist Taylen Scott is also a witch and can sense that she is being watched. When Federal Agents arrive in her lab she feels even more stressed as she tries to unravel why marijuana is growing in the Black Bay Channel. An explosion and fire take Andrej back to the black and white existence and he has to choose - agent, Elemental, hero or casualty. As the fate of the witch, he has come to love lies in the balance he has to decide. Can they have it all, or will he have to give it all up to give her a fighting chance?

This was a sweet story that had Andrej making an impossible decision as he fought to keep Taylen alive. His decision needs him to make a major sacrifice if he wants her to live - a decision that needs quick and decisive action. This was full of drama and excitement as a new threat arrived in the Black Bay area. Well written and easy to read/understand.

Review: No Wake Zone by Savannah Verte 4 of 5 stars

No Wake Zone (Making Waves, #4)No Wake Zone by Savannah Verte
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The time is up to solve the riddle of the missing people in the water worlds and then Oceanus receives another package and his fury sends everyone running in circles plus someone has seen a Sturgeon look-a-like. Then they find yet another dead end that could help to send them the right way - but only if they realise it. Gerri's latest match is between an elemental and an anxiety-filled orphan may hold the key to answering the whole problem but as they only just mated. Can anyone turn back the clock and how do they stop Oceanus' wrath when the one person who can is one of the missing?

This was the final conclusion to the plot thread that started in the previous three books of the series (and so you need to read those first). It was great to see them all work together using their own skills in order to solve the mystery and free whoever was still abducted as well as capture the perpetrator. I loved the introduction of the elemental and how powerful they are - a great asset that I really hope they can use for their "normal" investigations and work going forward. Well written and easy to read and understand.

Review: Kiss My Splash by Savannah Verte 3 of 5 stars

Kiss My Splash (Paranormal Dating Agency; Making Waves, #3)Kiss My Splash by Savannah Verte
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The members of this family unit are being redefined as couples come together with or without help from Gerri Wilder at the PDA and some lines are starting to blur for some of the members too. People are still disappearing and the water worlds are in chaos with Oceanus becoming more and more impatient for a solution - if it doesn't get sorted out before he does, then their worlds will never be the same. It gets worse when a legend is one of the ones that have gone missing. Time is starting to run out and so their decisions are made for them by circumstance. Can they make progress?

This book continues the storyline that was started in the previous book Grow some gills and so you need to read that first. In this book, two couples find love and their mate. They also have more disappearances and little progress on who is behind it let alone the why. Contains some sexual content. Well written and easy to understand.

Review: Grow Some Gills by Savannah Verte 3 of 5 stars

Grow Some Gills (Paranormal Dating Agency; Making Waves, #2)Grow Some Gills by Savannah Verte
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Mer Sturgeon Barrow is both stubborn as well as wild. Still being defiant and very difficult he almost flees before he gets the chance to meet the one meant to tame him, but Gerri Wilder of the PDA plants such a tempting seed that he just can't resist finding out more. Octopus Nera Daren knows exactly who her mate is but he has a playboy reputation so she leaves him to work it out of his system until he is ready to meet her. When she returns solo to the black waters where she normally lives she has no regrets even though she hasn't met him but can she stay there? The water realms are hanging on a precipice when residents keep disappearing but is there time for them to consummate their bond or will it have to wait? Could this be a very usual case of Gerri's timing being off>

I enjoyed this story which was fairly dramatic as the plot was definitely in force and threatening all of the beasts in the water realms. I liked the way that they finally came together although either I missed a proper resolution to the mystery or that is still outstanding to the next story in the series (which has confused me as Turg seemed to be at the heart of it). Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Baiting a Berserker by Savannah Verte 4 of 5 stars

Baiting a Berserker (Making Waves, #1)Baiting a Berserker by Savannah Verte
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Berserker Addian Hevir desperately needs a mate in order to save himself from the beast within as well as his clan. Mer-woman Fynn Barrow is a strong and independent woman who is tired of Mr Wrongs and just wants a partner who will not treat her as a dutiful housewife who needs looking after. Gerri Wilder confidently pairs them together but after just the one meeting they both have grave doubts that she has got it wrong for the first time ever. Can two dominant personalities find the balance to come together before others interfere and send one to their death, and the other back to square one? Or, will it take the imminent threat to drive them where they need to be?

I really enjoyed this story which had two very strong shifters that had to learn how to work together in order to see that they actually did belong together and that they needed to just sort out everything in order to avoid disaster. I loved the way that they came together and the way it all came to a head was great and showed just how strong she really was. I loved the ceremony for merpeople and the effect of that - a great twist on standard shifter mating rituals. Contains explicit sexual content.
