Review: Winning Paradise by Mireille Chester 4 of 5 stars

Winning Paradise (Crimson Moon Hideaway)Winning Paradise by Mireille Chester
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Elf and Detective Natalie Greenleaf was thrilled when she won a trip to the Crimson Moon Hideaway Resort as it would give her a chance to rest somewhere where she didn't have to hide her true nature from humans. Bear shifter Gage Loneclaw is a loner as he was exiled from his clan at a young age for refusing to follow orders that he felt were wrong. Instead, he has a quiet piece of land and his bees and so sells honey at the local farmers market. When he gets a call to say he has won a holiday to a five-star paranormal holiday resort he assumes there has been a mistake but a nagging thought has him accepting the trip and travelling there. When they meet it appears that Fate has had a hand and that they are mates - something that neither had ever thought was possible. However, the past from both their lives has reared it's ugly head and they first need to survive in order to get the future that they have been promised.

This was an interesting story that had a great plot and although I did enjoy it, I felt it could have somehow grabbed my attention a bit more than it actually did. I loved the way their pasts merge in a way that came to a head as their future together was just starting, but I did find the focus on the lawyer a little too much which was confusing at times. Generally well written, it was easy to read and understand what was happening. Contains some sexually explicit content.
