Review: Midnight Star by Ophelia Bell 4 of 5 stars

Midnight Star (Paranormal Dating Agency / Aurora Champions, #4)Midnight Star by Ophelia Bell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dragon shifter Astra Garrick is known as the Midnight Star and is the Nova Aurora Arena League’s reigning solo champion. Her brother was known as Ebon Claw and was also an Arena League champion. He was killed by an opponent using poison to eliminate him. So it is devastating when a title-hungry opponent of her own attacks her using the same drug that killed her brother. So now she is on a quest to try to find the source of the toxin which is either crippling or killing dozens of the champions on Nova Aurora, however, as part of that quest she never expected the matchmaker Gerri Wilder to send along with her two other shifters - the first is her brother's best friend and her former childhood crush and the second is a former champion who was associated with the toxin. Now they are on their way to Earth where the truth lies and a love that might compromise them all!

There were a lot of paths and individuals involved in this story which was definitely interesting to read as you worked through the whodunit with them all in order to find the true source of the toxin. There were a few dangers and dramas along the way, and the characters managed to work their way through it all in order to find a solution to whatever was in their way. I definitely enjoyed the mystery side of things and to a certain extent the relationship side of things. I did, however, lose the point of things at the end after an event involving a fire which was not logical and not very likely. Well written and easy to understand. Contains explicit sexual content involving multiple sexual partners.
