Review: Captive of Wolves by Eva Chase 4 of 5 stars

Captive of Wolves (Bound to the Fae Book 1)Captive of Wolves by Eva Chase
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Talia is a human who was taken after her family were killed by three fae who have kept her in a small cage where she is brutalised and half-starved only to harvest some of her blood every month. Then one evening, four gorgeous men break her out of her prison and take her home with them so that she has a big room, a soft bed and delicious food. She just wonders what the price of that protection is. Then he realises that her rescuers are the same as her captors - fae who shift into wolves who are subject to the same curse where during the times of the full moon only Talia's blood can cure them of their rage. As she learns more about them she starts to understand that a tragedy in the past made them outcasts and if they offered her to the rulers they would get back all of the power that they lost. So even though they look at her with heat in their eyes and she gets unfamiliar urges around them, she is well aware that the keep she is in is just a gilded prison where she is just a prize. Determined not to give in, can Talia make for a better life with these fae?

This was a good start to this new series which seems to be a mash-up between a fae, shifter and reverse harem all rolled into one. I liked the way that Talia was feisty even though she had been kept as a prisoner for so many years. I also liked the way that the fae all found their own way of having some kind of relationship with her. Well written and clear and easy to understand. It had a little sexual content in the story. It ended with an event that will cause major issues in the next book in the series.
