Vampire Hunter Pierce was a Roman gladiator and slave and so only knows death and destruction - certainly not love. Having met at a wedding, their worlds collide and with a situation involving Blood Rogues menacing both humans and vampires Tori is suddenly in danger and Hunter has no one to blame for the situation but himself. So in order to keep her close, he enlists her help to find a cure for the poison that is being used by the rogue vampires to kill - called Nirvana. So when Tori is kidnapped, Hunter faces his corrupt master which then starts a race against the clock to save his own life. But can a vampire who has only ever watched out for himself rick his life and immortality for the love of a human? Also, can a human who has lost everything rebuild her shattered heart with a man who is convinced he doesn't have one himself? Only love, trust, and an Honorable Rogue can save them all.
OMG - this book certainly started slowly and seemed a little monotonous at one point with the constant arguing between them, but please stick with it as it will all start to come together and then the cards will start to tumble as the barriers start to fall and only courage by both of them will suddenly give the HEA you always knew was hiding in there. I loved the insights back to the former lives of both of them as well as some of the other characters in the story. I would dearly love for there to be something wonderful for Sam to happen and just hope that it will be in a later book in the series. Well written and easy to read and understand, I defy anyone not to be pulling for them to sort out their differences and find a way to love each other. A great addition to this series.
