Review: The Nanny and the Alien Warrior by Honey Phillips 3 of 5 stars

The Nanny and the Alien Warrior (Treasured by the Alien, #5)The Nanny and the Alien Warrior by Honey Phillips
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Human Joanna was snatched from Earth and her peaceful academic life by alien slavers and sold to an alien warlord called K’herra as a nanny to his precocious daughter, Sultavi. Sadly a year later finds him dead and Joanna and Sultavi are on the run from the killers who want to use the child to take over his title and assets. Their only hope is the help of a mercenary who owes K'herra a debt of honour and they find themselves in the protection of a green warrior called Craxan with incredibly sad eyes. Craxan lost his family to a plague that decimated the Cire race and has reluctantly agreed to help them but the little girl and human female quickly win him over but the more time he spends with them the more he is convinced that they belong with him - but can this worn-out warrior keep them safe?

I really enjoyed this story which clearly showed that family does not have to be a direct blood relative. Sultavi was a typical precocious child and it was a joy to see the way she had Craxan completely under her thumb trying to please her and make her happy. I loved Joanna and how protective she was of the little girl while also being a strong and jealous mate for Craxan. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.
