Review: Cooper & Jake by Ashley Rayne 4 of 5 stars

Cooper & Jake

Cooper & Jake by Ashley Rayne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a story about Jake and Cooper, former high school sweethearts who are unexpectedly reunited at their twenty-year high school reunion after Cooper abruptly "ghosted" Jake without a word. Jake, who was heartbroken when Cooper vanished the day after graduation, believes the reunion is his final chance to get closure on the love they shared. Despite moving on, he feels a part of him is still tied to Cooper. Cooper didn't mean to ghost Jake, but a series of family tragedies forced him to leave town suddenly. Now a successful vet, he still aches with guilt over breaking Jake's heart. Returning to town, he is desperate to know if Jake can forgive him and if the "magic" they once shared is still alive.

I loved this second-chance romance focused on forgiveness and whether they can finally build the future they once planned. I also enjoyed the two best friends who played a part in getting them back together. Sadly there wasn't much interaction between them and the other people at the school reunion. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM book with mature content.

Review: Not So Over by Ashley Rayne 5 of 5 stars

Not So Over

Not So Over by Ashley Rayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Parker regrets breaking Marcus’ heart, haunted by self-doubt and longing for a second chance. When a destination wedding throws them together, Parker hopes to finally make things right. Marcus, still wounded from their sudden breakup, has avoided hearing Parker’s explanation—until a suspiciously convenient reservation mix-up forces them to share a room. As proximity reignites emotions, Marcus must decide whether he’s ready to listen, and Parker must prove that their love was never meant to slip away.

I loved this story with the two men who were meant to be together and the reason for their sudden breakup. I loved the sensitive way that anxiety was handled and explained to the readers. There were a lot of emotions and feelings which were all easy to feel and understand. At a basic level this was a story about love. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Not So Casual by Ashley Rayne 4 of 5 stars

Not So Casual

Not So Casual by Ashley Rayne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What happens when the lines between boss and employee get blurred? From the moment he stepped into Alexander's office, there was something different about Elias Bowen. Something that always drew him in and made him want to know more. After seeing a different side to Elias, they both have to figure out where their feelings lie. The problem is that Elias is Alexander's assistant.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who lusted after each other from afar until one cracked and they tried a no-strings arrangement which morphed into something far more permanent. I loved their communication style and the way that Elias was able to run interference for Alexander for either of them. Their relationship was hot and it was a joy to experience it with them. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
