When SEALs get sick of following rules because they hold them back from doing the right thing they either accept it or walk away. However, for a select few there is an alternative - they can join The Mavericks - a covert black ops team that gets the job done (even if they have to break the occasional rule on the way). Widower Kerrick Cassidy is one of those men who are chosen - and his mission is to find and save cancer research scientist Dr Amanda Berg, who has disappeared off the street outside her Paris lab. Can he find her and bring her safely home?
This was a sweet and yet dramatic story of a strong man who does whatever he can to save this strong woman who is not going to be kept a prisoner and stop in her aim to cure breast cancer in the memory of her best friend. There was a lot of twists and turns as they both worked together as a team in order to find out who was behind her kidnap and imprisonment as well as their motivation. Well written and very enjoyable.
