Review: Celtic Knot by Rebecca Fairfax 3 of 5 stars

Celtic Knot (Roar Britannia, #2)Celtic Knot by Rebecca Fairfax
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lyla Edwards takes a break from her busy corporate lifestyle in Ireland and meets Gerri Wilder who was her mother's friend and needs to talk to her. After the revelations from Gerri about her heritage she is shaken and so goes on a boat trip where a dolphin pulls her into the sea. When she meets a gorgeous guy and then is fished out of the sea by a gorgeous guy she feels that her bad luck with men might be turning. Hart’s as tall, blond, and protective as Caelan is lithe, dark, and mischievous. They’ve been a couple for more years than seems possible—but it is because Hart’s a stag shifter and Caelen’s an aes sí, a member of the fair folk - looking for their third, they’ve found her in Lyla as the chemistry between the three is off the charts and the wild, inventive sex that involves things Lyla’s never even heard of, is out of this world. Literally. But the real world breaks in when Lyla’s only shot at saving her family real estate company means developing Doire Woods. As if that isn’t heartbreaking enough, Lyla discovers that meeting Hart and Cae wasn’t a lucky chance—events were manipulated from the very start. Now, with secrets all around her and not knowing if her feelings are real, how can Lyla trust again?

This was a strange story that was actually quite interesting in places. I liked the links to Irish folklore and the ecological choices that she was keen to do in order to save the wood (a parallel to saving the planet). It did contain a lot of explicit sexual content. Easy to read and understand.
