Review: Broken by Night: a Reverse Harem Urban Fantasy by Jada Storm by Emma Stark 5 of 5 stars

Broken by Night: a Reverse Harem Urban Fantasy Broken by Night: a Reverse Harem Urban Fantasy by Jada Storm by

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ace Bisset is a detective and a witch. She has 4 men that she loves a great deal but they are cursed and currently have to turn into something else at night. Time is running out for her to break the curse and they keep being distracted by new bad people committing crimes in the city. In this book there is no exception to that when Ace finds someone who has been watching her. Can she stop him and break the curse in the time she has available?

Wow this was a great final story in the series and had someone suitably evil come and put a major spanner in the works for Ace and the guys. They are going to have to trust each other and work together to try and handle this evil guy who has his own evil agenda. There was lots of passion, emotions and drama in this story which definitely lived up to my expectations of this book and more. I loved the way this story ended and the way the trust relationships between Ace and the guys was central and key to the solution. Well written it was a very enjoyable book to read and if you are new to the series and authors I suggest you give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

Review: Hidden by Night by Jada Storm by Emma Stark 5 of 5 stars

Hidden by Night Hidden by Night   by Jada Storm by
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In this third instalment of the series Ace and her guys develop further into their personalities and skills as she gets used to what she can do and the supernatural world around her. We also learnt more about the history behind them all as well as hints of what might happen in the next book in the series. Sometimes a third book in a series can be a bit tired as the main events might have already happened but in this book there was still plenty happening that moved the story on while staying true to the characters we already know and love. I really enjoyed that it was all about friendship, love and relationships and not just sex that many RH stories seem to focus on. Very enjoyable story.

Review: Kissed by Night: a Reverse Harem Urban Fantasy by Jasmine Walt by Emma Stark 5 of 5 stars

Ace Bissett no longer thinks magic is a hoax but has to pretend it still is even though she has four hot gargoyles who will do anything for her and has magic at her fingertips. However she is trying to find the cure to the gargoyles' curse while also working as a homicide detective. Then life gets even more complicated when I new threat is in the city and the murderer is going for anyone who has anyone who is interested in or connected to the occult and Ace is the person who has to find them. Ace then realises that the murderer is actually trying to get her attention and if she doesn't find them soon even the gargoyles could be in danger - which Ace is now realising have become more important to her than life.

This was an action packed instalment to the Dark Protectors series which got much closer to all that Ace holds dear. The story covered a lot of thought by Ace about life, priorities and what was really important to her - which I'm sure we could all do with ourselves. I loved the action, drama and danger in the story and how it was written so that you wondered if this was the end only for something to happen and them to live to fight (and love) another day. The writing was good and I found it easy to read the story and pick up the emotions that the characters were feeling during some of the times where deep thought was involved about their past, present and future.

Review: Cursed by Night by Jasmine Walt by Emma Stark 5 of 5 stars

Ace Bissett is the police detective who picks up the so called paranormal cases and solves them by proving that a human did them. However when she inherits an old house left to her from an elderly aunt she finds that there are 4 winged and fanged hot guys who say she is the only one who can break a curse that is affecting them. Ace feels a connection to them and then starts to see things she can't explain. Everything has to go on hold as she faces a new threat to the city - one that leaves victims with missing bones and no blood. Thankfully the 4 roommates can help her solve the case and help protect each other.

Wow - I loved this new direction with a merge of the paranormal, reverse harem and a detective story. It was full of excitement, action, danger and drama which helped to keep me addicted to the story as it was unfolding. It was well written and everything was clear and easy to understand. I love the concept of this story and can't wait to see how this develops and what happens to them.
