Selena has broken an ancient agreement never to contact Basian, but after meeting her she becomes everything that he wants - including saving him from a death sentence hanging over his head. As sparks fly between them it becomes a battle of wills between Bastian and Selina, followed by a life or death battle between Basian and Selina against the vampire elder. As they work together will they also become each others downfall or saviour?
I loved this story which was an interesting vampire story with a few twists and turns. I liked the inner vampire politics and the twist with Selena being able to read their thoughts. This was well written and easy to read and understand. I loved the interplay between Selena and Bastian as well as the way that their relationship changed over time to be something much more. I liked that it is part of a series and so am looking forward to reading the rest of the books. Contains some sexual content.
