Erun by Erin Tate by Celia Kyle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Widow Vanessa Walker with her daughter travels to Tampa, Florida to begin her new job at Ujal Station Tau. Then problems start has Tabitha is il and a sexy and demanding Ujal insists that she should not be raising her daughter as she isn't ill as such - she is in fact an Ujal child. Whilst Vanessa has the support of Ujal royalty, but only one person - one Purple and sexy Ujal male - makes her feel safe: Erun fa Arex. Erun earnt his place through fighting and the use of his trident to become the captain of the Principessa's elite guard. He had a rough upbringing on Ujal where he grew up as a child slave forced to fight for sport and others’ pleasure. He has plenty of mental and physical scars as well as the critical damage course by many growth hormone injections that mean he can no longer father children. He has never considered mating as he knew it was not acceptable to any female, but meeting Vanessa and Tabitha he realises that is exactly what he wants going forward - he just needs to be prepared to fight to the death to keep them. Can they be together?
This was a slightly unusual story in the series but that made it much more enjoyable as it involved much more complex emotions and showed that there should be no boundary to love and the need to care for those who are most dear to you. It was charming to experience and I was rooting for them all as the story developed. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.
