Just when everything looked settled for Talia and her three Seelie men the Heart of the Mists decides to play a cruel move on her and ties her to one of the winter arch-lords as their soulmate. However, she is not willing to just give up the three men who she loves even if war is threatened between the two sides, so she steels herself to go into the winter lands in order to try and work out a compromise where everyone is happy. When she gets there the arch-lord is not quite what she expected and so the lines between ally and enemy are starting to blur - can she stop the clash between the two sides before even more blood is shed?
After the previous book ended on a cliffhanger, I was mighty relieved to read the next book in this series. The author has not disappointed with lots of drama, danger, doublecrossing and situations that caused everyone in the book to have to think on their feet as they tried to find ways to compromise so that they could work together for the common good. I liked this new character in the Unseelie arch-lord and look forward to learning more about him in future books. Well written and easy to understand, this was easy to feel the complex emotions that the characters were experiencing so that I could empathise with them. Contains some explicit sexual content.
