A good value collection of alien mail order stories.

#7 - Lobo - 4*

Veronica had a bad breakup with a longterm boyfriend and is now free to devote herself to training the search and rescue dogs for the local police department. The downside to that is she has to train the human dog-handlers too. Lobo has arrived on Earth with just a new human body and a mission to find his mate. It seems as if all the women he meets want to know him better he finds himself drawn to Veronica who refuses to acknowledge their mutual attraction. It seems that the only way to her heart is via the dogs that she cares for so when one of the K9s is in trouble and the rest of the department is ready to give up on him, she can't help the dog as he can't talk until Lobo offers to help solve the mystery and save her canine best friend. Can Veronica accept his help and keep tight control of her feelings for him or will the sexy alien bring her heart to heel?

This was an enjoyable story that had the separate tracks of what was upsetting the dog, who was plotting to damage the whole K9 programme and why, the relationship between Veronica and the dogs, Lobo and his secret talent and how the relationship between both Veronica and Lobo developed. These multiple storylines wove in and out of each other as the story developed and went through the different tracks. Well written and an enjoyable story that had times of danger and drama mixed into times of tenderness. Contains some explicit sexual content.

#8 - Conan -3*

Brooke Singleton is a highly skilled hand-to-hand combat trainer for the police academy. Life should be good as she has cadets who respect her, is running her own gym and has loving friends, but her nights are constantly dogged by terrible nightmares of an incident which happened during her military service. Then the handsome stranger who has just arrived not only haunts her days but now is showing up in her dreams! Conan has become determined and single-minded - he wants beautiful and brave Brooke as his mate but she denies him at every turn. If it weren't for the nights when he visits her dreams, he would have no idea that she actually craves him more than her next breath. When outside forces threaten Brooke’s home and gym, she and Conan must work together to protect the life she and her friends have built. Brooke will need a hand facing her fears if she wants to preserve what matters most. But can the broken warrior open her heart to let Conan help her?

This was a nice story that needed Brooke's determination and strength to combine with Conan's special gift in order to get the result that saved what meant the most to her and also persuade her that she should take a chance on opening her heart to him. I liked a lot of the drama and danger in the story plus the link back to her military service and what may or may not have happened. Conan was definitely determined and relentless in his belief in her which was touching. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

#9 - Hawkeye - 4*

Hawkeye learnt about humankind from 80s movies and is now there using his new human form trying to find his mate. Softly spoken Trinity loves her friends and her quiet life as an IT specialist for the police academy. So the three aliens who arrived from Stargazer have disrupted her quiet life in a big way. That Hawkeye is determined to excite her sexuality and life is disappointing as she is not looking to become an alien's mate. But there is something about him that leaves her feeling off-balance and it's not just his sexy body. So when something major and very dangerous happens in her world he seems the right person to step up and help as much as he can - even if she is determined to do everything on her own. Can they get to the bottom of what is happening and make sure that the right person is held responsible?

I enjoyed this story which has a great mixture of drama, danger and determination which put them both at the centre of everything that was happening. I enjoyed the way that she was not at all interested in him although she was denying it all to herself. I enjoyed the way that the truth of what was happening came out and the actions that Trinity took in order to get the proof to solve the case. An enjoyable story containing some explicit sexual content.
