Review: Galaxy Alien Warriors: Series Box Set by Sedona Venez 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
A fun read as the box set looks at how four strong alpha male aliens met their human mates and what happened.
Dekkir - 3*
Grace is an anthropologist sent from Earth to act as an emissary on Dekkir's home planet. She has a clear mission - make contact, live among them and record details of their lives and planet. However, it became more complicated when she meets war chief and military leader Dekkir who insists she is his mate as soon as he smells her scent. Adding to this chaos she is then attacked by her own planet's military command and Dekkir will do anything he can to keep her alive. Can they survive the upcoming battles or will one or the other die before he can claim his mate?
This was a pleasant story that had the complication between two races with different abilities struggling to find a way forward together - which mirrored the way it was between Grace and Dekkir too. Thankfully Grace was presented with a way to ensure that she could understand more of the planet's history and the way they communicate. I loved the way that their relationship developed and the way that Grace had to go against everything that she believed in order for the common good. I could feel the emotions from the characters at times through this story and I enjoyed many sections of it. Contains sexually explicit content.
#2 Sekkol - 3*
Keira was kidnapped from Earth and was sent to Jupiter for sale - determined all she can focus on is escaping and getting back home. But when the highly-trained warrior and heir to the throne of Jupiter Sekkol sees her he knows she is his mate. He just needs to protect her and stay patient until she lets him in. Will she relent before it is too late for them both?
This was an action-packed story where a strong alpha male alien had to deal with a feisty woman who had an aim and focused on it fairly exclusively. There were a few twists and turns as well as plenty of danger and drama at times. I enjoyed the way that Sekkol had to be very strong and show immense strength while Keira dithered but in order to get the result that he needed he was prepared to play the long game. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.
#3 - Craze - 3*
Human Misty is abducted from Earth by scary-looking aliens and she has to be ready to fight for her life. When Craze rescues her he doesn't expect to find his fated mate - especially as all he can think of is claiming her heart, body and soul. Can he convince her that he is the right one for her while keeping them both safe?
This was a pleasant read as strong and determined Misty encountered alpha male alien Craze who was quite simply crazy about her. Easy to read and full of drama and danger, this was an enjoyable story. Contains explicit sexual content.
#4 - Raevu - 4*
When Raevu's alien race starts to die but to a lack of females, human Eva is one of a handful of volunteers who want to help them to survive - sweetened by 50,000 credits just to see if her DNA is compatible which should clear all of her debts. What she never anticipated was to be a match let alone be completely compatible with the hot alien king Raevu himself. Can they both work together to iron out some major communication issues, a badly run programme on Earth and have the HEA they could have?
I enjoyed this story which had plenty of misunderstandings, drama, danger, evil plots and incompetence in generous amounts throughout the story. I loved that Eva was strong and festy (which definitely came in handy at times in the story) and that Raevu was a very typical male who needed to learn the ways to handle negotiation with anyone who was not accustomed to obeying your orders without question. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Shifted Perceptions by C.E. Black 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Paul had betrayed the team in the past and although he was given a second chance to Terry (Foxy) if you were once a traitor you were always one. When they have to work together on a mission they butt heads so much it is almost dizzying as they struggle for dominance and over time she wonders if all his husky words and burning glances will just send her crazy with lust. So she resolves to keep her cool and renew her determined stance to never sleep with a traitor. Working undercover is not Foxy's speciality but as a team player, she does everything she can to infiltrate the group of smugglers and trying to find out who exactly is running the show behind the scenes. As they have a captured teammate her first priority is to find him and when she meets Stone a leader of the organisation things start to heat up as she uses the attraction to her advantage. But things are not going as planned as secrets pile up and time is short. Can she keep both her focus and her head between Paul and Stone straight?
I really enjoyed some elements of this story which had lots of danger and drama. I enjoyed the alpha way that Paul behaved towards Foxy and their dynamic (although at times it was rather irritating), but I did find the Stone thing a bit confusing at times (especially towards the end of the story). Well written and easy to read. Yet more of an indication that Liz is going to be important later on in the series. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: The Humility of Humans by Chrys Cymri 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
C of E vicar Penny White has known about the magical country of Lloegyr for some months now and yet in many ways, it feels like years. She has become used to living alongside dragons, gryphons, werewolves, and a snail shark (to mention just a few) and is even married to dragon Raven. On a trip back Raven is attacked by men in a helicopter and they only just make it back to safety. As part of that trip, Penny made some major decisions to face the consequences of her actions with all parties - marrying Raven has certainly complicated her relationship with the Church and Bishop Aeron plus there’s renewed danger from Cadw ar Wahânas the secretive group takes new action against those who dare to find love outside their own species. Now it is becoming clear that the British government is rounding up all refugees stuck there from Lloegyr and putting them into detention centres and her family have had to go into hiding. It seems that the rat kings are involved if only she can work out how. Can she find a way to save everyone she loves?
This was the last book in the series and was certainly full of plenty of revelations and we finally managed to work out a few things. I loved the way that the final resolutions in the story all centred on how people could be trusted to do the right thing and that people power was far more important than the opinions of those in power and their hidden agendas. I felt quite tearful at the end of some well known and loved characters as well as punching in the air with delight at the way that some parts of the drama ended (especially around one of the major buildings in central London. I loved the way it ended although I am also heartbroken that the series has ended. Well written, easy to read and understand. Surely this has to be made into some kind of a film as I can see some of the messages in this being great for children to see and experience (as well as all the fantastic creatures).

Review: Xyron by Miranda Martin 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Cora was on a generational ship when her dreams are dashed when space pirates attack the ship and she is taken to the Gladiatorial Planet of Krix and sold into slavery. As the weird girl, she finds it hard to believe it when one of the gladiators says she is his - she's not going to fall for lies again this time. As soon as Xyron sees Cora he feels it - the Xi - he never believed it was real but now he has felt he know it is real. He knows he must hold her beautiful body in his arms and show her the pleasures of being his mate. But they are both slaves and their lives are not their own. Can they be together and win their freedom?
This was a sweet story in a world full of macho men fighting in the area for the honour of their masters. I liked the way that the same pull of a mate still existed for the aliens as we may have read for shifters and that it was strong even though it was odd for a human to get their head around a concept like that. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Falcon’s Heart: Paranormal Dating Agency: Tower Hearts Tales 1 by C.D. Gorri 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Falcon shifter Hank Garret does not need the help of his honorary aunt Gerri Wilder's help to find a mate - he will leave that to the Tower to find him a suitable mate in his species. However, Gerri has had enough of his refusals to use her Paranormal Dating Agency. She knows that a life without finding his one true mate he will never find happiness. It's just as well she knows who the lucky woman is - she just needs to bring them together in some way. Lion shifter Annabeth Golden is a member of the Blue Valley Pride and is very frustrated and lonely. When she runs into Gerri Wilder, the famous owner of the Paranormal Dating Agency, Annabeth has hit the jackpot. Or so she thinks. But what happens when the cranky Falcon claims he doesn’t want a mate? Can this cat bag her bird?
This was a typical story of a reluctant mate, a determination to do what is perceived as right, and wearing down those barriers until fate is really allowed to take its course. I loved how feisty Annabeth was and how Hank really had no chance although it took him a while to realise it. Well written and easy to read. A lovely HEA at the end. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Dragons Don't Eat Meat by Kim McDougall 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Valkyrie and pest controller with a soft heart Kyra discovers that someone is killing dragons when she finds an abandoned baby dragon. She doesn't want to take him home but until she can locate his thunder and take him back feels she has to care for him even though her apartment is already full of recused animals. She has a basilisk who thinks he is a turkey a pygmy Kraken and her roommate is a banshee who fills in as a nanny to them all. It might seem strange, but to her, they are her family and when that family is threatened she will risk all to save them. As part of that, she joins forces with the handsome and irritating captain of the city’s vigilante Guardians, who never fails to be around at her most undignified moments. Along with a quirky cast of misfits and unruly critters, Kyra leaves the safety of Montreal Ward and travel through the dangerous Inbetween—the land beyond the protected city-states, where magic is the only rule of law—to reunite the lost dragon with his thunder and stop a new and sinister force from invading their home.
I loved this story which had magical creatures, an evil plot, an underlying sexual tension between Kyra and Mason, lots of danger and drama and some moments of both crushing loss and happiness. I really enjoyed the story and the way it developed. I found the sections of her blog with comments a little weird although it didn't distract too much from the story. I'm intrigued by what happens next and if they can stop the next phase in the evil plot as well as if Mason will finally see who is in front of his face and do what we all want him to do. Well written and easy to read and understand.

Review: Star Kissed by C.D. Gorri 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The Wardens of Terra are an elite force of shifters who battle the forces of darkness in order to save humankind. Fox Shifter Isabella Fuente has spent years learning how to harness her powers and trying to forget the man who broke her heart years ago. While at the Wardens of Terra Centennial Convention she encounters jaguar shifter Luis Fernandez who has finally grown up and is not prepared to let her get away again. A Tarot reading from an unusual fortune teller leaves them both shaken. Will Fate finally have its way with the two wayward lovers?
This was a sweet story of two fated mates who were too young when they knew each other before and them having a second chance when they meet again later in life. I enjoyed the sassy way that Isabella was and the way that Luis really had to convince her that he had changed his viewpoint. I also enjoyed the mystery of their fortune-tellers and the consistent message that they were given. I think they will now form a formidable part of the Wardens of Terra force where they are both based. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Marked By The Devil: Purely Paranormal Pleasures by C.D. Gorri 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Avail Leeds is tall, dark and handsome. He is also a shifter - a Jersey Devil shifter. He is determined to keep his true nature away from the public although he does the opposite with his millionaire playboy image. He has been ordered back to the ancestral home lay low and been forbidden to leave. All-round good girl and preservation activist Stephanie Decatur goes to the Leeds ancestral home for an appointment in order to get a donation and help towards saving the Pine Barrens area from a development company. During the last quarter moon Avail's Devil is just bursting to be let out when he spies curvy Stephanie encroaching on his land. When he sees her both his beast and man agree, this female is his mate and has to been marked by the devil!
This was a sweet story as this lonely Jersey Devil finds his mate and how they came together as a couple. I liked the situation when they met and the actions nearer to the end of the story when there was some drama and danger. A quick and easy read that is clear to understand and feel. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Crystal Brawl by Nazri Noor 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Darkling Mage Dustin Graves was never a fan of human sacrifice because he was one himself. A knife in the heart changes a man, but Dust survived, awakening to the eldritch gift of shadow magic. One night, he stumbles upon a nocturnal ritual, a cult ceremony he stops with the help of his sentient sword Vanitas. But there was one small thing the two of them hadn't considered. What if the girl on the altar was the real danger?
I loved this story with its usual snark and humour as Dust did his best to help and how he handled what happened next. As always it had to involve eating in some way. You have got to love Vanitas who is like Dust++ in the dry humour stakes. At the end of the book, there were also short stories from the other connected series.

Review: Planet X by Evangeline Anderson 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Bride-to-be Krisa Elyison has been bought and paid for by the elderly and pompous Lord Radisson who lives on another planet. Galactic criminal and prisoner Kurt Teague is a Feral - a proud and savage people who have an unparalleled will to survive and is fiercely possessive. The past has turned him into a ruthless killer and he is currently in the cargo hold of the starship which is taking her to her intended husband's planet. When Krista finds Teague he is blindfolded and chained to a wall. When she hears his deep gravely voice her heart jumps. When the ship crashes on an uncharted jungle planet she has little choice but to trust him with her life and more importantly her virginity. On a world filled with ravenous telepathic beasts and cannibalistic natives, Krisa discovers that the gorgeous and mysterious Teague may be the most dangerous animal of all.
This was a nice story that focused a lot on the jungle planet and the experiences of both of them whilst they were there as well the relationship between them. I did find the singular focus on her virginity a little wearing in the end although I did appreciate that it was her worth to her purchaser as well as her value to him. The events nearer the end of the story were very dramatic and if I didn't like Lord Radisson before I certainly didn't after his behaviour post finding her. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Eye of the Tiger by M.L. Guida 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
After humiliation at the hands of a man she believed was the love of her life who then ran off with her sister at the prom, Cora Amici now faces a reunion ten years later and is determined to arrive with a shifter who will knock everyone's socks off. Tiger shifter Seth Reese lost his mate Cora Amici to his rival and his life has been miserable without her. With the high school reunion coming up can he win her back? As a last resort, he asks Gerri Wilder at the Paranormal Dating Agency for help. Gerri invites them to dinner and fireworks explode when they meet there and so he thinks he has a chance. However, his rival threatens to destroy their happiness. He gives Seth an ultimatum–his shop or Cora. Seth’s not the same tiger and rises up to meet the challenge. Will he sacrifice his shop for his mate?
I mostly enjoyed this story although I thought that Cora was just silly and neurotic about Seth, his sister and shifters in general. It seemed to me that whatever he did and however hard he tried she was determined to not give him a chance and to assume the worst constantly. I need up losing my patience with her. In the end, everything worked out and so there is a HEA. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Cherish the Fallen by Cherron Riser 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Guardian Angel Lyla loves her life, guarding children but that is her entire focus and so she is made to take a vacation. Best friend Zimarra drags her to the Crimson Moon Hideaway but what she never expected was to find work while there let alone to fall in love with the demon father of her two young charges. Demon Ashford has been at Crimson Moon Hideaway for a few weeks ever since he left hell for good he hopes as he has grown tired of living there. But now assassins are coming for him but also now for his kids. Can they work together to keep everyone safe and will their unexpected attraction and feelings for each other be the strength they need to save both Ashford and his children?
I really enjoyed this story which had a nice twist of a demon tired of life in hell and a guardian angel falling in love with each other. There was plenty of drama and excitement thanks to the other demons attacking him and his children but Ashford stayed determined to leave and protect the woman he loved. Well written and easy to read/understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Trust Me by K.E. Osborn 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Jeni is working for an auto repair shop and her trust has been badly broken in the past as so she guards herself and her heart with a rod of iron. Then she meets Aiden O'Connell after a minor auto accident and everything changes as they are both pulled together with an undeniable attraction. Aiden is a billionaire vice president of a financial company and a charmer which definitely rings all of the alarm bells for Jeni. Can she trust him? It is not helped by his overbearing father, mysterious incidents and an investigation into embezzlement. Staying by Aiden’s side could destroy her, but leaving him could be the end of them both.
This was a good read at the start but it turned into a great story as it developed and the relationship between Aiden and Jeni developed and as more and more characters were involved. I loved the identity of her flatmate's boyfriend and what Aiden's brother was and did. (trying hard not to give it away). Jeni worried me at the end as she was still being so flaky at a time that Aiden really needed her support. Having read the description of the next book in the series my mind is wondering what the hell is going to happen next. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Secrets of Winter by Eva Chase 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Talia is bound to the summer fae by her blood and love of her three men, but she is also bound to the winter fae by the mating side of things which gives her a question - if she is the solution to the curse in the summer realm is she the solution to the curse in the winter realm too? Certainly, she never asked for this central role but she is also determined to do everything that she can in order to help and cure as many people as she can. The question is, can the winter and summer ever find peace as it's not easy to be tied by her heart to both sides in a war that could potentially made them all targets. Can she believe that love with win over pain and hate or is she kidding herself?
This was certainly a busy instalment in the story where Talia had a lot of thinking to do, investigations into many different topics - primarily if she can cure the winter realm's sickness - and trying to find a compromise between them all. This was well written, easy to read and understand plus full of action. I loved the result of all of the negotiations between the realms and the two different sides of her personal life too. There is a major bombshell at the end which means that I want to read the next book immediately and not have to wait for it to be written. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Filthy Prince by Liza Street 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Gabrielle is safe in the Junkyard away from her controlling father but she has a secret that she is hiding even from her new "friends" - so secret she has to keep it from the sexy wolf shifter who has stolen her heart. Damien knew there was something special about Gabrielle when he first laid eyes on her which makes his inner wolf howl to claim her - he has no idea why she ended their passionate affair after the one night but he can be patient and wait for her to come around. It turns out, though, that Gabrielle doesn’t need a hunter but she does need a protector. Just like her baby needs a father.
Wow - lots happening in this complicated story which involved an evil alpha father, a woman desperate to escape and not be forced to mate, a billionaire shifter wrongly accused in denial about his mate and a new family of shifters in the Junkyard. I loved the community in the Junkyard and the way they came together and protected each other and the irresistible pull between Gabrielle and Damien. I have to admit he was at times a bit of a jerk but he also could not help but protect the woman he loved no matter the way things were between them. Full of danger, drama, passion, angst and love this was a really enjoyable story that definitely kept you on your toes as it twisted and turned as situations developed and then changed. I was thrilled when they sorted out their differences and finally gave in to the inevitable. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Fate's Appeal by Roxanne Witherell 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Going to the Crimson Moon Hideaway for her sister's wedding, Peyton Wright was at least getting a needed holiday that she intended to try and enjoy even if that meant she needed to hide from her mother's constant nagging to dress up and attract herself a mate. However, even though she didn't plan to find him, she does find her mate at the wedding party but someone else has their eye on him too! Thad Rivera is his Alpha's best man at his wedding which he assumed would be a dull weekend until he met Payton and realised that she was his mate if only he could get her to realise it. But when she goes missing he needs to find her before it is too late!
I liked this story which had the suitable ingredients of mates finding each other, evil jealousy and the dramatic hunt to find her before it is too late (all set in an amazing holiday resort). I really enjoyed the way the family and pack dynamics worked and how that added to the story as well as the way that the Crimson Moon Hideaway, its owners and staff were central to the story. I loved the relationship between Payton and Thad developed and grew as the story progressed. Well written and easy to read/understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Garret's Gambit by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Garret feels stronger than he ought to be after the plane explosion and is as angry as hell about it. Now he finds he has to fly to London to talk to his ex-fiancee who screwed him over with his own brother. But she says she has information about his missing brother who is linked to the plane explosion. When he gets there, it's not Amy but her younger sister Astra waiting for him to explain to him what little she knows and asking for help to find her missing sister. To him, it seems like once again this is an example of her never facing consequences for her actions. Astra can't help wondering why he hadn't broken up with Amy sooner so that he had a chance with her as she has loved him since forever. Garret just hopes that finding Amy will help him to find his brother who can give him answers about the sabotaged plane and so Astra is happy to play that game, although it's not going to be easy as the men who failed to will some of their team and looking for their chances to finish the job taking out anyone who is close by. Can they find everyone, survive and can Astra and Garret have a chance at happiness together?
This was definitely a dramatic instalment of the series as Garret tried his best to find his brother, his ex-fiancee, and more information on what happened to the sabotaged plane he was in and who was actually behind it. It was definitely full of drama, excitement, moments of violence and times where they had to just trust each other. I loved Astra and her relationship with Garret which was strong and feisty as she was definitely the stronger of the two sisters. Amy was definitely suitably irritating and there were definitely times that I just wanted to give her a slap and tell her to get real. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains a little sexual content at the end of the book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Vampire Gavin Morris is a mysterious but damaged individual but he has a sexy voice and a smooth touch. Lexi becomes his blood courtesan and sparks fly between them. FEATURED NEW RELEASE - Filthy Prince by Liza Street
#wolfpackreads
“Good morning,” Gabrielle said in a careful voice, trying unsuccessfully to shove aside all thoughts of their night together. “Do you need something?”
“This,” he said, dropping his arms and marching forward. He stopped close to her, so close she could feel his body heat against her stomach and breasts. The baby did a little flip. Or maybe that was Gabrielle’s heart.
“Can I kiss you?” he asked.
Dumbfounded, Gabrielle squeaked, “I guess?”
“I need consent,” he said.
“Um. Go for it.” The words left her mouth before her brain could put on the brakes.
She didn’t want to put on the brakes, though. She wanted full-throttle, she wanted satisfaction, she wanted Damien.
His lips met hers like they’d been made just for Gabrielle. Firm yet soft. A little bit of scratchiness from his stubble to provide a counterpoint to the delights of his kiss. He opened his mouth slightly, and she opened hers in response. His tongue touched her lips, but that was all.
Why was she allowing this to happen? Her brain was scrambled. She was weak around him. Something about this wicked wolf shifter made her forget her resolve.
And right now, she didn’t care about resolve.
Gabrielle clung to one of his shoulders with her free hand. She wanted to press herself closer to him, feel his heat all along her body. The baby bump got in the way, but Gabrielle didn’t let it deter her, and she turned sideways so she could feel Damien along the entire length of her body. His mouth continued to move against hers, and she felt enveloped in heat.

Review: Hunting Ember by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Ember Brady is a talented pastry chef who is sick of working for other people and so desperately wants to own her own bakery. A reality show competition will the prize of winning your own bakery sounds the perfect answer as it would mean she did it on her own merit and not via a handout from her family. Alpha lion shifter and in charge of his family's security business, they currently have a contract with the company behind the reality TV show F&D Network and so is their current head of security. When he meets Ember his lion makes it incredibly clear that she is his mate. So when Ember is the target for several death threats and an accident he just wants to keep her safe, although she is just focused on the competition. Can they find a compromise and will all this stubbornness and danger stop the course of true love between them?
I really enjoyed this story which has lots of danger and drama mixed in with a battle of wills between two people who were not prepared to compromise until they really had no way of not doing that and stay together. I loved the way that their relationship developed and the battle of wills that developed between them. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: So You Think You Can Marry an Alien by Tasha Black 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Actress Margot Lane thought she had made it - fans, money, a dream role in a hit TV show but they then send her to an exclusive celebrity fat camp on the east coast of the US so she decides to bust out of there. Persued Margot takes an opportunity from a mistaken identity but then realises that she is actually hiding on the set of a new reality TV show that has captured the imagination of the entire planet. The star of the show is a gorgeous man who is hard to resist. Kent and his brothers travelled from the planet Aerie to find human female mates. As part of that, Kent has agreed to star in a reality TV show trying to show human men how great alien men are (and to find himself a mate). When he meets the mysterious Margot he begins to understand his own cravings and demands. Can Margot keep her identity under wraps when the cameras are on? Or will Kent help her do everything she thinks she can’t?
This was a strange alien finding his mate book. I found the finding his mate reality TV show very in keeping with current trends but I did find the format a little strange with all of the tests they had to do. I loved the way that Margot helped her roommate and friend and that over time it was noticed. It seemed to take Margot and Kent a while to work out what was happening which was a bit irritating. Easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Wolf Shield by C.D. Gorri 3 of 5 stars by C.D. Gorri 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Hudson Stormwolfe is a Guardian of Chaos and they are trying to stop the Loyalists from controlling all magic. Normal human Fergie McAndrews has an obsession with shoes and is currently researching data from a new employer. But when she is in the car park one night creepy green goons want to take a bite out of her and she ends up being involved in the fight between the Loyalists and the Guardians of Chaos. Storm is drawn to Fergie and everything about her calls to his inner wolf which signals that whether it is the right time or not, he has met his fated mate - he just needs to save her from harm and convince her that she belongs to him. Storm will do anything to claim his mate, even promise to keep her in the ridiculously expensive shoes she favours!
This is a dramatic start to the series and shows just how irrational a guardian can get when they meet their mate. A fund read and Fergie was very feisty and so determined to keep Storm in his place. A very understandable obsession with shoes which we can all understand to some extent. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Once More, With Dragons by Godiva Glenn 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Dragons Demyan, Leo, and Myron have all spent their lives underground but they have sneaked out of the safety of the clan in order to try and find their mate - someone who can complete the bond that they formed when they were born. Bear shifter Mara is all about work and has no time for the mating side of things - her pleasures in life are hard work, strong drinks, tasty food and watching the fighting tournaments. Then a night of fun is derailed when she catches a scent that she knows is her mate's. So she goes to friend and matchmaker Gerri Wilder and begs her for help to find him. However, that help guides her onto a path that I both surprising and confusing. As everything is changing for them all what compromises are they going to have to make to entwine their four separate paths into one?
This was a sweet story that covered the three dragons, how they sneaked out and how they found Mara. I enjoyed the compromises that all had to make although I did think that Mara was very spoilt and selfish at times which did not endear her to me. Easy to read and understand. A fairly typical paranormal dating agency book. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Warriors' Claim by Michele Mills 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Wyric, Zaxon and Bex are Xylan warriors who live in a sector of The Swirl and complete what is called a Xylan Triumvirates which means that they are non-identical brothers who share a special bond. And they’ve been deemed dangerous and removed from the Xylan mating database for a valid reason: no female can withstand a claiming by three Xylan warriors at once and come out alive. Cyborg Trish is the sister of the three cyborgs from the previous book and she has gone over to where Wyric, Zaxon and Bex are in order to help them but she can't take her eyes off them. As she is a cyborg she feels that she is more than capable of coping with them for matching to become a part of their family. Trish might be the only female in the four sectors willing to take on all three of these ferocious warriors and their shared enemy. But can an emotionally stunted Cyborg truly claim their hearts and their love?
I enjoyed this story which was very dramatic in places as we saw just how violent they can be and what their mate would have to put up with in order to join with them. It was well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Cyborgs' Claim by Michele Mills 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
In a sector of the Swirl lives three outlaw Cyborgs called Axel, Steel and Gage. They originated as forbidden cybernetic experiments gone awry who escaped from their Hurlian programmers and now live hidden. They are craving a human female to share and claim but as they are illegal and live in such a remote area that is not likely. Then Megan arrives. Originating from real Earth she has survived horrific abuse at the hands of alien captors but has managed to escape and has arrived near the three cyborgs who can detect her white-hot desire for them. Will she choose to stay and live with three cyborgs who have been stripped of emotions or will their time be up and their original programmers return for their ultimate weapons in the form of the cyborgs and destroy their female and everything that they are constructed?
This was a nice story that was very focused on the three guys who are now cyborgs and their interactions with Megan. A light read that was easy to understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Tempted (Fallen Angels 6): Tajael's Story by Alisa Woods 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Tajael is a cross between an angel and a human and strives for Virtue even though the human side of his body is vulnerable to all sins. Whilst he grew up cloistered with angels in the Dominion of the angel Markos he now needs to go out into the world and prove that he really is an angeling of Virtue. If he can stop from Falling he can return at taking his vows - but nothing has prepared him for what comes ahead of him.
This was a sweet story that provided some great background to Tajael who we meet in other stories in the Fallen Angels series by the same author. Well written and easy to read and understand I enjoyed the story although it seemed to be shorter and more like a novella in length. Contains explicit sexual content. Does not have to be read as part of the series.

FEATURED SALE BOOK - Blood Bounty by Liza Street
#wolfpackreads
I could lie to the sheriff and tell her I have a posse on the way, but I’ve found it best not to tell tall tales to the folks I want to pay me at the end of the day. She might never find out, or she might have a charm or two on her person. Charmslingers like me aren’t as uncommon as “proper” folk would like to think. Humans all over the west have been figuring out that life is just a tad easier sometimes with a little magic to help them along. They just don’t like to admit it as much because they think it taints them somehow. They’d rather shout slurs at the ones who use it openly. Jealous, I suppose.
That leaves me with one other option—finding a posse in name only. They stay behind, out of my way, and I pay them a set amount upon my return. The best way, really; there’s no risk of betrayal. But the right person has to be a combination of greedy—wanting to take my money, vain—not wanting to mess his pretty face, and without valour—not minding that he looks like a coward for staying behind.
A man walks into the bar and takes off his hat to reveal sandy blond hair. He looks directly at me. His bright blue eyes seem to shine through the gloom, his nose is straight, his teeth all intact as he smiles.
Ladies and gents, I’ve found my posse.
Review: A Deadly Sin by Alisa Woods 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Tajael is a protector class angeling assigned to be the guardian of human scientist Charlotte as there is a war brewing between the angels of the light and the fae who have been creating demons to stop humans from developing technology - especially if it allows them to go into the immortal realm. He is terrified while doing that as he does not want to fall into the dark realm through lust for her. Charlotte is a scientist and so only believes what she can see and prove - angels, fae or anything else are certainly not on that list. Her ex had broken her in the past but she has moved on and is lost in her work all funded by a mysterious billionaire. When her co-worker attacks her a hot looking neighbour saves her and she starts to wonder if there is more to the multiple dimensions than she had ever thought. Can Charlotte make her discovery and can Tajael keep her safe (as well as himself from falling)?
I really enjoyed this story which was a fantasy story involving angels, fae and other supernatural creatures as well as a deep love story between Charlotte and Tajael. I loved the way that it focussed on what love is and that it didn't have to be physical to be real to have meaning and be significant. Full of drama and danger as well as some magic, I loved this story which was very sweet and left me smiling. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Angel on Fire by J.C. Andrijeski 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Angel Dags has stolen his friend's wife Jade away to protect her from him as he believes Uri is Lucifer and that he is trying to awaken her to join him. But he is no longer alone as school friend Kara is an LAPD homicide detective, there is a house full of people and his girlfriend Phoenix X who is a movie star and awakening angel who cannot control her powers properly yet - all who need to be protected from demons.
This was certainly an action-packed instalment of the series as Dags had crisis after crisis to handle as well as the constant drip feel of information and sometimes misinformation and trying to work out what was real, what was true, what was a lie, and more importantly what was significant. Throughout it all, he discovered more and more about what and who he was as well as what and who Uri his schoolfriend was too. Well written and full of action and revelations, this was very addictive and I just could not put it down. It was easy to read and understand but you do need to keep up with the pace of the revelations and discoveries. There is one hell of a revelation at the end of this book which just fused my mind for a while so prepare to sit a think about this for a while when you finish it. I really can't wait to find out what happens next - this author really is very clever at her art.

Review: Mastering The Mistress by Evangeline Anderson 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Havoc Solar M'Tex has followed the pattern of all other males in his rave and sworn to never bond himself to a female. So when he is captured and sold to a woman at the Flesh Bazaar as a body slave he knows he is definitely in trouble. Especially when he is bought by Kaylee who is new to planet Yonnie Six and has no idea that she needed a body slave until a new friend Lyla told her she needed one let alone what to do with him. When they are in her dungeon with all the equipment a Mistress could need to tame a new slave, Kaylee does her best but when Solar gets free of his restraints, the tables are turned. Will she escape from the male she dared to try and master... or will Solar end up Mastering the Mistress?
This is a sweet novella that contained a story about a girl who was new to an environment, trusted someone and the events that happened after that. I liked the way that Solar fought hard to resist her but failed in the end. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Murder in the Marigolds by Dale Mayer 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Doreen finds herself a suspect in the murder of her ex-lawyer and it's definitely not the fun she thought it would be. Mack has ordered to stay away from the case but she is just not capable of not being interested and so she enlists Mack's brother and her new lawyer Nick to help her. The first priority for Corporal Mack Moreau is to clear Doreen as a suspect as no one in their right mind would believe that she'd done the deed. But he has to take into consideration that she has both the motive and the opportunity so it is not going to be a walk in the park made much worse considering she will not leave it alone and wait to be cleared! Then when she thinks it just cannot get any worse she answers the door of her house and the nightmare gets worse - her soon to be ex-husband Matthew is there. Will there never be an end to this nightmare?
I really enjoyed this instalment of the series where everything was far more personal to Doreen and both her old and new life. There were a lot of unanswered questions that were answered or were asked and put off until a later time. It definitely reinforced to me that her soon to be ex-husband Matthew was a piece of work and I'm sure we'll see much more of his evil and ire in later books in the series. Well written and easy to read. feel and understand.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Review: Hell Hounds Don't Heel by Kim McDougall 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Someone is plotting to have all of the gargoyles either put in jail or dead and six feet under. They might have patrolled the Montreal Ward for decades (learning the name Guardians) but when one of them is accused of murder their reputation is immediately blackened from heroes to criminals. Gargoyle Mason promised to return from his trip to France with the only weapon capable of killing formidable witch Polina but no one has heard from him in months and she is gathering forces. This isolated Kyra as it means that she has no backup as she tries to solve a murder and take on some new and terrifying monsters while at the same time looking after her growing menagerie of supernatural creatures. Can they defeat Polina before it is too late while avoiding everything that she is throwing at them?
This was a very dramatic story as the twists and turns came one after the other mixed in with complications that were almost dizzying as Kyra did everything that she could to stay alive as well as save everyone that she considered as her family. It was also a delight to see that the relationship between Kyra and Mason developed nicely and it was great to see how much they were able to respect each other and handle their differences (even though I know Mason wasn't keen on her being in danger and alone while it was daylight). Well written and easy to read and understand. If only there were more stories in this series as I have loved the way it has developed.

Zoe's sister had been a blood courtesan but had be given drugs and drained dry before being left for dead. So having met Asher he promised to help me bring the vampires responsible to justice - I just have to become his own courtesan.

Review: Sins of the Shadow Walkers by C.L. Bright by Cassandra Lawson 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Juliet is very sceptical of her new Shadow Walker allies especially when it comes to the stories she has been told about her own origins. Filled with doubt and confusion she clings to the only thing she is sure of - she needs to return to the Heathergate Refuge to help Dante and her people who are all inside the protective wards. She knows that seeking help from any spellcasters is risky when she is being hunted by the Verdugo family but she has no choice. Will her new allies help her to reunite with Dante or will they betray her and destroy both her and everyone who she loves?
This was definitely a dramatic end to the trilogy and definitely contained some surprises as well as twists and turns. I loved the way that Juliet has to often think on her feet but thankfully judged risk well enough that it generally worked out. It was clearly written and easy to read and understand. A great ending to the story that I really enjoyed.
