Review: The Twins by Miranda Martin by James D. Horton 4 of 5 stars

The Twins (Gladiators of Krix, #4)The Twins by Miranda Martin by  James D. Horton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Human Kennedy is a slave on the gladiatorial planet of Krix, after just one night with the sexy blue aliens known as the Twins she discovers that she is pregnant - the question is will they let her keep the baby or will they force her to get rid of it and sell her to someone else? Not only is she stuck on Krix but she fears that she will be stuck with the two aliens who will claim her as their own after just one night of lust, not love. The Twins are an oddity among their Alvan people - they share a mind and their thoughts and feelings are always know to each other - the same as that shares among mates of the soul, know to their people as Pari. They assumed that they could not have the same bond with others, but when they meet Kennedy after just one night, they want more no matter the cost to their lives as slaves.

I enjoyed this story which gave some very real examples of the brutality of the dysfunctional environment on Krix and what people will do for those who they love. I enjoyed the additional information on the environment there as well as the way that the relationship between the Twins worked and their thought processes. I did find the doubts and strange uncertainty of Kenney on certain things a little odd but I guess she was stuck in uncertainty and self-doubt. I was so glad on the way that the story ends. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content some of which is MMF.
