Review: Kyron by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Kyron (The K9 Files Book 15)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kyron goes back to his home in Aspen to find missing retired war dog Beth. There he finds Miranda who runs an unofficial animal rescue and has been feeding Beth who is not alone but also does not seem bold enough to come onto her property yet. Miranda does two jobs so she can feed the animals she is responsible for but as it is too expensive in the area for her to move she is stuck coping with her miserable neighbour who complains about her and her animals. When Kyron turns up looking for the three-legged dog she has been feeding things with the guy next door start to get really ugly!

I enjoyed this story with the emotional aspects of Kyron returning home and his relationship with his family as well as the fractured relationship between Miranda and her neighbour. I did find her determination to care for so many animals hard to relate to as I could never do anything like that myself but it did make for an interesting story. There was definitely plenty of drama and danger in the story and I loved the way that Kyron stepped up and did his best to keep her and the animals safe. Contains a little sexual content at the end of the story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
