Hawthorne has lived in the same small town his entire life. And I like being a rancher, taking care of his chickens, and even his meddlesome family. What he doesn’t like is the limited dating options. He's gay, and at thirty-six years old, he's never been with a man. When he enters a contest to win his favourite adult entertainer’s support for the town’s first Pride Parade, he never expects to win. And he never expected to find himself in a friends-with-benefits relationship with the man. The problem is he quickly realised that he wanted more. But could someone as confident, sexy, and independent as Silver ever consider building a life with a simple cowboy like him? Mateo's work is his life. Filming under the moniker Silver, he's happy enough making good money, he's free from his crummy past and well on his way to the career he dreams about, and he's not looking for any complications. Hawthorne Moore, has a sweet-as-molasses drawl, an adorable gap-toothed smile, and the beautiful way in which he begs, and suddenly, Mateo finds himself getting in too deep. And that’s a problem because he's spent years building up these walls around his heart, and he doesn’t know how to bust them down. Can he work through his trauma and lasso himself a cowboy, or will he lose the only man who’s ever loved him?
I loved this story with the shy and inexperienced cowboy and the traumatised but gentle man who hid behind his porn persona. This had plenty of feelings and emotions as they both faced their demons. I was so glad that they found a way to be together. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
