Review: Shadow Prince by S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

Shadow Prince

Shadow Prince by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Adam discovers that the childhood monster under his bed was real — a shadowy being named Hex who imprinted on him years ago and has now returned, exiled from the Shadow Realm and dependent on Adam to survive. Hex is smug, intrusive, and impossible to ignore, but he needs Adam’s help, and their old bond keeps pulling them together. Adam knows he should send him away, yet the creature who once hid under his bed is now firmly under his skin.

I loved the unusual, reluctant connection between Adam and Hex — a bond Adam fights every step of the way until he finally starts believing the truth Hex has been insisting on from the start. Their dynamic is equal parts chaotic, funny, and unexpectedly tender, and watching Adam slowly give in to what’s growing between them is one of the story’s biggest delights. The humour was funny, especially Hex’s compulsive need to reorganise Adam’s flat like a shadow‑realm housekeeper with opinions. The side characters added even more charm and energy, each bringing their own fun to the chaos swirling around Adam and Hex. Amid the jokes and banter, there’s real drama and moments of danger that keep the tension high. Altogether, it’s a lively, emotional, and thoroughly entertaining read. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Fey Divinity by S. Rodman 5 of 5 stars

Fey Divinity

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jack, the son of the prime minister, finds himself forced into an arranged marriage after the fey conquer Earth. His intended husband, Prince Dyfri y Mhorriganogi, is breathtakingly beautiful but also suspected of being a spy and an enemy infiltrator. Jack resents the lack of choice and resigns himself to a fate he never wanted — sharing his life with Dyfri in Downing Street. Yet when they finally meet, Dyfri’s dark eyes and enigmatic presence stir doubt in Jack’s certainty. Beneath the suspicion lies the possibility that Dyfri may not be loyal to his people at all, but instead aligned with humanity. As attraction and mistrust collide, Jack must decide whether he is seeing the truth or simply what he longs to believe.

I loved this story which was about love and suspicion in the shadow of conquest, where one forced marriage could change everything. I loved the way that Jack defended Dyfri making him start to believe that he was not the worthless whore he had been treated as. I also loved that the fey conquest places Jack in a position of vulnerability, even as he represents human leadership but for Dyfri as a prince, he embodied power, but his possible disloyalty to his people revealed vulnerability. That emphasized that love became a negotiation of power, where intimacy required surrender from both sides. I felt that Dyfri was the prince with the possibility for the largest depth of character and this book did not disappoint. I loved the ending which was perfect for the series. Many emotions and feelings in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Fey Empire by S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

Fey Empire

Fey Empire by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Laurie, a man who was raised in a cult to believe that the fey would one day return to conquer Earth and that he was destined to be a magical offering to one of their princes. After his mother gives him to Prince Selwyn Y Mabinogi, a fey creature, Laurie is forced to confront the reality of his cult's teachings. He was raised to believe his body and magic were not his own but a gift for the prince. Although he wasn't taught to desire this fate, he finds himself captivated by the prince's touch and words.

I loved this story with the two men were put together in something similar to an arranged marriage. Laurie had to work through the conflict between his ingrained beliefs and his unexpected physical and emotional response to the man who claims him. The story also had a lot of Dyfri which set up the next book in the series nicely. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Unfettered Fey: MM Paranormal Romance by S. Rodman 5 of 5 stars

Unfettered Fey: MM Paranormal Romance

Unfettered Fey: MM Paranormal Romance by S. Rodman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jade longs for a normal life, especially now that Flyn—his sunny, confident crush—is back. Though Flyn sees strength in Jade, Jade is haunted by a traumatic past: born from a twisted breeding program meant to create fey from human bloodlines, then sold into a billionaire’s paranormal harem. His only solace came from the brotherhood he found among the other captive boys. Though they were rescued, Jade’s mind still bears scars. He hears the sinister whispers of the fey, trying to manipulate him into opening a portal to Earth. His friends helped him resist—but the threat still lingers. Now, with the whispers dormant, Jade clings to a fragile hope for something real with Flyn. But the fear remains: Will love survive the truth of his past—or the return of the whispers?

I loved this story with the final former harem member finding his soul mate. The torment from the relentless pursuit by the fey was interesting and the later twist was a surprise. I also loved the way that this story pulled in connections to other series by this author. A lot of well written emotions and feelings. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Fey Sovereignty by S. Rodman 5 of 5 stars

Fey Sovereignty

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A human Special Agent goes undercover as the pet of Prince Llywelyn Y Mabinogi, aiming to manipulate the fey court and install a more agreeable ruler. Llywelyn, seemingly arrogant and foolish, turns out to be far more complex—lonely, haunted by nightmares, and burdened by secrets. As the mission unfolds, the agent begins to question everything, including their own heart, realizing that even a prince isn’t immune to suffering.

I loved this story with the two men who were supposed to be working together to replace the current fey ruler but as time passed and they learnt more about each other feelings started to surface. I loved Llywelyn who was such a contradiction yet fragile and full of emotions. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Unfettered Vessel by S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

Unfettered Vessel

Unfettered Vessel by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

How do you live when you are not supposed to be alive? Pink took a bullet in the brain for his friends. An exchange he was happy to make. But his friends are paranormals with magical healing skills. So here he is. Healing physically. Alive when he was ready for death. At least his intended sacrifice worked. Everyone is free now and no longer slaves in a billionaire's harem. Pink is a vessel. He absorbs magic he cannot wield. He has to give it to a mage via intimacy. His ever helpful friends have found someone. A mage who is happy to live in a campervan at the bottom of the garden and only interact with Pink when he is needed. Except Monty is unlike anyone he's ever met. He has never been with anyone before. He is kind. He is gentle. He treats Pink with respect. He doesn't see him as an object to be used. He just might be worth living for.

I loved this story as the two men fell in love with each other and had no clue or bad timing to be able to tell each other. There was more danger and drama around the plots to bring back the fae and thankfully they seem to have been thwarted. I loved both men who felt very real and easy to feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Fey Regency by S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

Fey Regency

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ollie tried to kill a fey prince. But then Tristan called him pretty and made him his pet. All his life he's been different. His grandmother proudly declared that they were descendants of the Fair Folk. He thought she was batty. Until the fey invaded Earth and he saw that he looked just like them. He had to leave his grandmother all alone. Run, hide and survive. His life was hell, and it was all the fey's fault. So when he got the perfect opportunity to take a prince out, he seized it with both hands. Except he messed it up and was claimed as a pet by Prince Tristan Y Mabinogi. A flame haired himbo who is convinced life is about pleasure and gratification and the only reason he's a moody, grumpy bastard is because he hasn't had enough of either. A status he is determined to rectify. Ollie'd rather die than admit it to him, but he might just be on to something.

This was an extreme grumpy/sunshine story which I loved as it was set in this world where the fey have returned and find love with their pets. I did find Ollie hard to warm up to as he had no filter or ability to control his acting out just as if he was a child. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Unfettered Vampire by S. Rodman 5 of 5 stars

Unfettered Vampire

Unfettered Vampire by S. Rodman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Vampire Ned is 99 years old but looks like he is only 22. After escaping years of captivity and abuse in a harem he now looks after the children of his late great granddaughter as their nanny for her widower Morgan. He tries to stay away from him but fails.

I loved this story with all of the yearning and angst with all of the emotions and feelings mixed in. It was easy to feel all of it and empathise with all of the characters. I loved how the freed members from the harem helped or sometimes hindered each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Fey Dominion S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

Fey Dominion

Fey Dominion by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

He's lucky he wasn't killed when he was caught snooping outside the palace, but then again, Prince Mabon Y Mabinogi is unlike anyone he's ever met. His decisions don’t make sense. He is beautiful, demanding, loud and dramatic. He loves sparkly and pretty things and wants to keep Blake as his pet. He’ll play along for now. For the sake of the Resistance and the intelligence he can gather. But as soon as he can escape his bed, he's gone. There is no reason to stay. No reason to take him with him. Is there?

I enjoyed this story with the fey prince and the resistance fighter. I did find Drake's determination a bit too much at times but I was glad that he made the right choice at the end. It was interesting to learn more about fey politics and that Drake learnt a little more about the significance of their hair. Easy to read, feel and understand this book was full of thoughts and feelings, especially for Drake. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Fey Conquest by S. Rodman 5 of 5 stars

Fey Conquest

Fey Conquest by S. Rodman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Prince Rhydian Y Mabinogi. As beautiful as he is cruel. The man of his dreams, and of his nightmares. Jamie was just a normal human man. Now he is his pet. He will never see Jamie as his equal, as his partner. He should hate him, should try to escape, should loathe the things he does to him every night. But as he comes to know the twisted politics of this cruel and violent fey court he dragged him into. He can't help suspect there is far more to Rhydian than meets the eye. He thinks under his icy armour, one thing is true. He needs Jamie.

I loved this story with the Fey Prince who took a human pet and discovered that humans were far kinder than the members of the fey court. I loved their relationship and the way that over time Rhydian was very kind or indulgent with Jamie making his life more comfortable. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Count Felford's Vessel by S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

Count Felford's Vessel

Count Felford's Vessel by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Count Felford is young, handsome. Progressive. Everything Luci could hope for in a husband. Yet they had a seven year engagement and still he feels hated. Instead, it seems he's destined for an unhappy marriage. Imagine how much worse it will be if he discovers his secrets? The fact he likes to wear dresses and lingerie is bad enough, but his other secret? That one could change their world forever.

I enjoyed this story but felt it missed a little more after they had found a more affectionate relationship between them. The ending was very dramatic and unfortunate for the world. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Butler's Vessel by S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

The Butler's Vessel

The Butler's Vessel by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Barny's butler is calm, confident, capable and he wants him to take charge of him..But he calls Barny master, because he is about to come of age and become Earl Rocester. A vessel with a title how absurd. But there is no one else to take it. He is clumsy and brash and bold. Prone to making an utter fool of himself. He's too much and nobody wants that. It means the only offers of marriage he'll receive are from men willing to overlook his flaws for the sake of my title. That was before the incident. He got far too drunk and lost his purity when his magic was freed. His butler hid the evidence with dark magic, but now he needs regular intimacy with a mage to empty me before everyone discovers my shameful secret. It is a good thing his butler is so obliging.

This was a nice twist on the standard vessel story. I loved Jeeves who tried to stay emotionless but in the end he just couldn't. Barny was a sweetheart and it was easy to feel for him and be invested in his life and future. I loved the ending and hope we meet them both later in the series. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Prince's Vessel by S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

The Prince's Vessel

The Prince's Vessel by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Prince Wilhelm is in London for King Charles’s coronation and Jem is provided as hospitality, along with the champagne and the penthouse suite, it’s just another night. Jem is the disgraced younger brother of Duke Sothbridge. Ostracized from society since he was a teenager. Considered good enough for only one thing - being used for his body and magic by mages. He is a prince, not Prince Charming, and Jem is nobody's Cinderella. Fairy tales are just that, tales. One night won’t change everything. When Jem walks into the room, Will is blown away. He is utterly gorgeous, and his magic sings to Will's like no other ever has. He is also as feisty as hell. He has never been more smitten. That night will changes everything.

I loved this story the Will who was determined to have Jem no matter who or what stood in his way. I loved that finally Jem was treated with respect considering that he should never have been ostracized in the first place. Easy to read, feel and understand there is plenty of danger and drama too. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Duke Sothbridge's Vessel by S. Rodman 3 of 5 stars

Duke Sothbridge's Vessel

Duke Sothbridge's Vessel by S. Rodman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Colby Witherington lives in 2023 and lives in a world of lords & ladies, balls & arranged marriages. It’s all very regency, except men marry men & magic is involved. Colby is twenty-one and still unwed. Vessels are always married to a mage on their eighteenth birthday. It’s tradition. One he wants to take part in. He longs to surrender his body and his magic to a mage. A trap goes wrong and Duke Sothbridge who is forced to propose to him. Evil, cruel Duke Southbridge who ravished Lord Garrington’s vessel on a balcony and fought a duel over it.

This was a good story with lots of drama and angst as they both came to terms with their marriage and the politics around them. There were times when I just wanted to hug Colby. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Bodyguard's Vessel by S. Rodman 4 of.5 stars

The Bodyguard's Vessel

The Bodyguard's Vessel by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Some would say Lord Eban du Fray was a spoiled brat. Born into the British nobility and married to a lord, he has never had to work a day in his life. Instead he drinks, parties and sleeps around. Much to his husband’s disgust. But Eban is a vessel, a person who grows and absorbs magic within them, and his husband is a mage. As with all mages and vessels, his husband takes his body, to take his magic. This arrangement, combined with Eban’s dazzling beauty, ensured that Eban’s husband tolerated his bad behaviour. Alpha wolf shifter Bastion is happy to be paid a ton of money to keep a spoiled brat in line. Keep him safe. Stop him sleeping around. Make him behave. Easy money. He doesn’t expect to uncover something far darker, or that beneath Eban’s dazzling exterior is a soul that shines far brighter. But he can’t let himself fall in love. Eban is married to a powerful, dangerous man who is not going to let him go. Falling in love with Eban will only lead to tragedy and heartbreak. Bastion must resist, must stay strong. Or will he sacrifice everything for the man who is carelessly stealing his heart?

This story showed an aspect of the vessel system which was incredibly cruel and that Eban was doing whatever he could to stay sane. Eban's husband also was keen to whore him out when it suited him which directly flew against his insistence to stop him from sleeping around. I was pleased at the end with the way that the story ended. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Earl Hathbury's Vessel by S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

Earl Hathbury's Vessel

Earl Hathbury's Vessel by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After years of cruelty, how do you learn to trust? To love? On Charlie's eighteenth birthday, they gave him to a mage. From that day onwards, every seven days for four long years, he took his body to take his magic. Until someone stole me away and gave me to Archie. The Earl of Hathbury, Archie is kind, yet giving him his body, and magic is daunting to Charlie. But it is his duty and a necessity. As a vessel, he needs a mage to regularly empty him or he could die. Archie is understanding and gentle, and it’s not long before he falls for him and his duty more of a pleasure. Archie also seems to enjoy their time together more than is proper, and he is hopeful. But can he trust him? Is he safe and can he ever be truly free?

I enjoyed this story which started in the previous book. Archie and Calie seemed to both be quiet and shy which made them them the perfect match. As always there are misunderstandings and confusion but once they were sorted out it was great to see them both so happy. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Lord Garrington's Vessel by S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

Lord Garrington's Vessel

Lord Garrington's Vessel by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's 2022. Magic isn't supposed to be real. Arranged marriages aren't supposed to exist.
How are gay arranged marriages for magic a thing? Fen grew up alone in boarding schools. Never met any of his family. At his graduation, his older brother turns up to take him home. Except Fen discovers he is the result of a shameful affair and not related to Lord Garrington at all. Yet, for appearance’s sake, everyone must continue to believe they are brothers. To make matters worse, an indiscretion reveals that Fen is a vessel. Someone who grows magic but cannot wield it. Magic can only escape his body and not kill him by regularly submitting his body to a mage. Hence the crazy arranged marriage idea. It's a shame the only mage he wants is his arrogant and obnoxious fake brother. Lord Xander Garrington, like all British nobility, is secretly a mage. He was only supposed to pay the boy off, but Fen was outrageously pretty. Then he turns out to be a vessel. The opportunity is too great to miss. He needs to pretend Fen is his brother and sell his stepmother’s bastard to the highest bidder. Securing the best possible match to advance the family’s fortunes. If only Xander's emotions would obey. He is supposed to sell his fake brother, not fall for him.

I enjoyed this story which was a good introduction to the world that this series is set in.  I felt so sorry for Fen and as a little sad that he seemed to settle for Xander although I guess his options were limited. I was thrilled when he helped the other vessel although it hinted at something which was never mentioned again. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Unfettered Siren

Unfettered Siren by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blue is a a broken mess. He hides at the bottom of his pool. Human Sammy seems sweet. He has been used and abused too. A fellow survivor. So Blue is not scared of him.
But when he carelessly falls into his pool and Blue saves him from drowning, he is not at all happy about the mate bond it creates. He has to find a way to undo it as he is not fit to be anyone's mate. He is pathetic, and the thought of intimacy repulses him. While Sammy is a cheerful, bright ball of sunshine despite everything that has been done to him. Blue will find a way to fix this, and then we will both be free.

I enjoyed the story with the accident, trying to fix it then changing their minds. Blue was a complex character after everything that was done to him. Sammy had his own demons which made them perfect for each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Unfettered Demon by S. Rodman 4 of 5 stars

Unfettered Demon

Unfettered Demon by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

For a hundred years, Grey has been chained to a bed and used by humans. A pathetic, broken excuse for a demon - an incubus who is lost. All he knows is fear. He drifts, dreams and dissociates. .He barely remembers being kept in a billionaire’s harem, hardly recalls these paranormal boys who call me their friend. They say we are free now but he's not so sure. His new keeper is called Mal. He is handsome and dangerous. He feeds Grey well and pulls him back to reality. He is stern and dominating, and Grey likes it - surrendering to his will would be so easy. But Grey doesn’t trust, can’t trust - that part of him has been shattered into a thousand pieces. Is Mal strong enough to hold him so tight that all his jagged parts fit back together? Or is he his final destruction?

This was a good read as Mal fought to bring Grey back and feed him enough that he could thrive while learning to live a more "normal" life. I loved some of the ingenious ways that Mal found to feed Grey without adding to his trauma. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with nature content.

Unfettered Kelpie

Unfettered Kelpie by S. Rodman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kelpie Lello was imprisoned in a billionaire’s harem, the piece of work bit him, forcing a mating bond and making the kelpie believe he was in love. The enslaver had to die, and now the kelpie is dying too. The only thing that can save him is a new mate. Except he won’t want one. Carter will have to do something against his beliefs and force his mark on him. Then the kelpie mating magic will do its thing and he will become devoted to him. He will think Carter is the one he loves. Brodie says that Lello is adorable. Kind, sweet. Sunshine personified. Gorgeous as well.

I enjoyed this story as Carter hated himself for forcing himself on Lelo to save him. The angst did gat a bit much at times and I did feel so desperately sorry for Lello at times as his mate appeared quite pathetic at times. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
