Skotan warrior Cazak only wants a simple life even though that can appear a tall order as he is stranded on an alien planet that is under constant attack. Human Sibyl is beautiful, headstrong and desperate to escape from her artificial life as the daughter of a politician. When her father becomes possessed by the Ancient Enemies her safety rests in the hands of Cazak. As her life crumbs around her can she trust him to see the real her and not the facade she presents to others?
I enjoyed this story which managed to have the story of Cazak meeting his mate, more information on the Ancient Enemy and a little more about how that Ancient Enemy was affecting the society on that planet. I loved level headed Cazak who definitely loosened up a little when he met his mate even though he still remained steadfast and very logical in who Sibyl was and how to help her. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.
