Review: Simon Says... Jump by Dale Mayer 5 of 5 stars

Simon Says... Jump (Kate Morgan Thrillers #2)Simon Says... Jump by Dale Mayer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finally settled into her position, Detective Kate Morgan is working hard and yet still straining under her caseload. She is still unsure of what to do about Simon and his "gift" and so just focuses on her work instead. Currently, she is looking at a series of drive-by shootings which have also brought a three-year-old case to the forefront. Simon had hoped that his visions would stop now that the police had solved the paedophile murders but no such luck. The new visions he is getting are confusing, chaotic and they make absolutely no sense. So for now he is unwilling to share any information with Kate and will keep it to himself until he understands it much more. Then he sees a pattern connecting it to a female who is suicidal. While Kate understands his physical and mental torment she is also frustrated by the lack of detail in his latest visions until she looks at another issue and realises that the number of suicides is way higher than normal. Can Kate and Simon solve them both?

I really enjoyed this story which I was definitely waiting impatiently for as I enjoyed the previous one so much. Kate was finally an accepted member of her team and it was great to read of her interacting with team members in a more "normal" manner. I loved the mysteries behind the two serial crimes that Kate worked on and that it appears that for now, Simon is getting visions around the cases that she is working on. It was great to read in more detail the effect on him when he had some of the visions as well as the way that Kate reacted. I really hope they can now be together more in some kind of permanent relationship as I think they are made for each other. Easy to read and understand, it was a very enjoyable story. Contains some explicit sexual content.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
