When it comes to regrets, Art had none. His life is perfect. He owns a bar, works hard, parties harder, and smothers his niblings in all the love they deserve. He doesn't need to settle down, as much as his sister might want him to. But then Joey Manning walks into his office and leaves him all but begging to give him a job and wanting to give him so much more. The self-professed straight man is in Art's head and while he knows that he needs to move on from him, his body isn't getting that message. It doesn't help that Joey is a grade A flirt who can banter with the best of them. The bills keep piling up and the pressure to get his sisters through college before they're evicted is always on the back of Joey's mind. Whoever said life was for living, clearly forgot that living’s expensive. His default mode is stressed AF and working myself to the bone, and there’s only one person who gives him a break from all that. His boss Art de Almeida. Joey needs this job. But some days he worries that he needs Art more.
I loved this story with Art and Joey torturing themselves needlessly as they really were perfect together. I loved Art's hidden identity that he used to help people and that Joey had worked it out. I enjoyed the banter between them both and that their thoughts and feelings were very transparent. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
