I loved this novella that shines because of the quiet, powerful connection between Tyler and Damon. Even before the fake‑dating scheme begins, there’s an ease and trust between them that makes the whole charade feel surprisingly natural — almost like they were already halfway to something real without admitting it. What really pulls you in is how much they hide from each other while pretending to be a couple. All the staged affection, the whispered asides, the lingering touches… they’re meant to be for show, yet every moment is charged with the feelings neither man is ready to confess. That tension — trust on the surface, longing underneath — gives the story its emotional punch.
