Review: Shatter by Sharon Ashwood 3 of 5 stars

Shatter (Crown of Fae #2)Shatter by Sharon Ashwood

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Tessa Harrison decides to go on a cruise to Alaska but in a parallel to her love life, the voyage appears to be doomed. It appears that her ex (who is now revealed as the fae Sea King) is also aboard and has brought sea monsters with him. The other complication in her life is captain Maxwell Stokes is in charge of the ghost ship Solitude and is the guardian of the gateway between the and human worlds. Stokes's mind was set on vengeance but Tessa is a spoke in those plans as she becomes the person who completes him. So her survival means she has to unlock a destiny she never knew she had, as she becomes the one who is the key to both or the means' future. The question is will she choose right and who will she choose - the one whois telling her the truth or the one who is lying to her?

This was an epic story that felt a little mixed up at times although I stuck with it and got to the bottom of it all eventually. Easy to understand, once I got into the story I did enjoy the way it ended. I think it would be better to read the first book in this series first before you read this one.
