Review: No Wake Zone by Savannah Verte 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The time is up to solve the riddle of the missing people in the water worlds and then Oceanus receives another package and his fury sends everyone running in circles plus someone has seen a Sturgeon look-a-like. Then they find yet another dead end that could help to send them the right way - but only if they realise it. Gerri's latest match is between an elemental and an anxiety-filled orphan may hold the key to answering the whole problem but as they only just mated. Can anyone turn back the clock and how do they stop Oceanus' wrath when the one person who can is one of the missing?
This was the final conclusion to the plot thread that started in the previous three books of the series (and so you need to read those first). It was great to see them all work together using their own skills in order to solve the mystery and free whoever was still abducted as well as capture the perpetrator. I loved the introduction of the elemental and how powerful they are - a great asset that I really hope they can use for their "normal" investigations and work going forward. Well written and easy to read and understand.

Review: Carnal Submission by Erotic Storm 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Adult content book - only 18+ readers.
Katie has been shielded by per parents for her whole life but when she is 18 she is left at home with another tutor for the holidays only to discover that it is not an elderly lady this time but an older man instead. Within hours of being introduced to him, she has her virginity taken by him as this experienced man starts to educate a naive, inexperienced woman. As part of that education, James takes Katie down the path of submission and BDSM. But what is the reasoning behind this decision by her parents?
This was an interesting start to the series where Katie and James meet and the journey of discovery starts. This is definitely a good example of erotic fiction and care should be taken over the audience for this on a mobile, computer or e-reader. Well written with very clear descriptions of the thoughts and motivations experienced by the two. It was an enjoyable story but a little brief in the exploration of motivation and agenda for both of them. I also found it a little concerning when James gave Katie alcoholic drinks considering how sheltered she was. Enjoyable but their journey has only just begun and I felt that the ending of this book was a little abrupt. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Kiss My Splash by Savannah Verte 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The members of this family unit are being redefined as couples come together with or without help from Gerri Wilder at the PDA and some lines are starting to blur for some of the members too. People are still disappearing and the water worlds are in chaos with Oceanus becoming more and more impatient for a solution - if it doesn't get sorted out before he does, then their worlds will never be the same. It gets worse when a legend is one of the ones that have gone missing. Time is starting to run out and so their decisions are made for them by circumstance. Can they make progress?
This book continues the storyline that was started in the previous book Grow some gills and so you need to read that first. In this book, two couples find love and their mate. They also have more disappearances and little progress on who is behind it let alone the why. Contains some sexual content. Well written and easy to understand.

Review: His Human Surrogate by Michele Mills 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Chloe is housesitting for the male alien who had her impregnated in a med lab so that she can be a surrogate for him. The slight complication is that the male is Bergelmir - the subject of her secret crush. He outbid everyone at the virtual auction and upset a lot of Hyrrokin by being the winner of her as his surrogate. But she is doing her best to have her head on straight about it and is doing it so that her friend can be a father. But she has a secret - she wishes that the baby was her as she loves the father with all her heart.
This was at times an amusing story where he kept an eye on her and made sure she got all that she needed while not admitting anything just like she didn't either. Of course, it all went to the wall when all was made clear but at least there was a HEA at the end. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: His Human Nanny by Michele Mills 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Riley has almost finished her contract with the agency and is just about to be released when another request comes in and I am persuaded to do one last job - an alien needs a nanny quickly - not that she has any idea how to look after a kid as she specialised in the elderly. As she was the only human available she was snapped up. As she arrives for her new job she has a panic attack- her new boss looks just like Satan - black horns, red eyes, forked tongue, silver-tipped claws, barbed tail and he even breathes fire! Before she knows it she is caring for twin babies and gazing longingly at her boss making her wonder - did she sell her soul to the devil?
This was a fun read that had all the requisite ingredients in an alien and human romance. I loved the image of Aegir looking just like the devil (or at least a demon) and her initial reaction to him causing a full-blown panic attack. A fun read that was light and not too long and complex. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Nabbed in the Nasturtiums by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It's been a tough few weeks for Doreen since her former lawyer Robin was murdered and her ex-husband Matthew started to try and get back into her life (and so far seems to be determined to not leave her alone). Doreen's recuperation seems doubtful when a local gardener is kidnapped while picking nasturtiums for dinner and she feels a need to get involved especially as the niece has turned up at her home asking for help, even by accompanying her to the police station. Keen to help and after understanding how hard it is to be a suspect, Doreen steps in to help. With the usual mix including love, jealousy and greed it will take everything from her animal companions to keep her safe. Can she get to the bottom of this without more injuries?
This was a really dramatic story that taught Doreen some home truths about how she is and what she needs to modify in her behaviour in order to protect herself and her heart in the future. I liked the way that her solicitor (and Mack's brother) knew her number and was clever enough to both protect her interests in the divorce from Matthew as well as try to protect Doreen from herself. I also loved that the relationship between Doreen and Mack seemed to be a little further forward (although don't get excited it really isn't much at all!). The self-analysis is valid for us all and not just for Doreen and the case in question. Easy to read and understand with a great mystery to solve for the reader too.

Review: The Hidden Kingdom by Sarah M. Cradit 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The king is now dead and the would-be brides have taken control and made their own destinies. Any that are left wear scars - some with pride and some with remorse. Sorceror Oldwin is in the stolen throne but that is becoming shaky and it currently relies on truth remaining hidden from the kingdom. Other sorcerers are working to make the past become just that and they have already saved Dain Rhiagain and therefore there is hope in his line that they can save the kingdom and therefore all of the worlds. Can Dain's three children who were raised in ignorance of their parentage and skills confront so that the kingdom can survive the final days ahead? But theirs is not the only sacrifice required. The dying words of an old man will stir one man and his Reach toward a new destiny, one that will decide the fate of all the worlds.
This is definitely an action-packed final instalment of the series that will give readers some surprises, some long-awaited answers to questions that I'm sure we all had, and at the end a sense of closure. There are as usual for this author a lot of intertwined events and some cause and effect happening throughout the story that in places I recommend reading them more than once in order to pick up the nuances. This is definitely a book that you have to have read the previous ones first as you will need to background. In my mind, I can see a series of post-it notes on a large board with string between them so that the connections are all documented. This might be the last book in the trilogy, but I can guarantee that there are more books that are set in this world to be written and issued yet. Well written, easy to read and understand. Contains some violence and sexual content. Definitely a prime example of the Epic Fantasy genre.

Review: Doubly Bound by C.D. Gorri 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
As the oldest of three sisters, Sage Freeman has been a building force for what feels like forever. But she quits her job the day before their annual vacation and so that no longer feels true. Nothing has gone right for her especially dating, and so she is doubly determined to enjoy this holiday. Silver dragon and alpha Callan McGregor and white liger omega Landry Smith are a triad pair and sit as the heads of the Council of Triads entrusted in helping all Alpha/Omega pairs to find their mates. Having run out of options among the eligible shifter females they announce at the council meeting that they are opening the search to include humans - what they never expected to happen was to meet their own match. But what will this pair do when they meet their own mate in a beautiful normal with a sassy mouth?
I enjoyed this story which had a great mixture of drama, crossed wires, danger and determination. I loved Sage and how feisty she was even though you could assume she was not (until the moment she quit her job when I cheered for her!). I loved the way that Callan and Landry were such a great pair and how well they worked together. I enjoyed the way they tried to do their best for everyone but prioritised their mate as well. I loved the way that Sage came into her own and proved that she was a very intelligent woman who could think clearly. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains MMF explicit sexual content.

Review: Doubly Claimed by C.D. Gorri 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Ginger is relishing a break from her boos as she leaves for the Freeman Sisters' annual vacation. As much as she loves being a preschool teacher, with all the comments by her supervisor about her weight the feisty redhead is tired of eating in her car and hiding just how wonderful she actually is. So a pitcher of margaritas and some bear claws to eat together with quality beach time sounds wonderful. Kodiak bear shifter and alpha Misha Orson and his omega and Roosevelt elk shifter Constantine Ross are desperate to find their third and so they travel to Moongate Island for a secret meeting of the Council of Triads. What they did not expect was to find their third in the hotel and that she is a beautiful human. They just have to convince her she is theirs, forever and always.
This was a sweet shifter and fated mate story which had a twist with some crossed wires and communication issues. I loved the way that Ginger was so feisty and let nothing stand in her way once she had accepted how everything needed to be. It was great to encounter someone who was so intelligent and needed that as well as the usual shifter violence in order to defeat any foes. Contains explicit MMF sexual content. Easy to read and understand.

Review: Flash Point by Luna Joya 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Mina Donovan has many talents - she is a fire elemental, psychic, Legacy witch and an "asset" for the FBI paranormal task force. However, her latest struggle is not to fall for her best friend - but her heart is not very logical. For her best friend Josh, the friend zone is the opposite of the place he wants to be with Mina. But as a witch hunter he has little choice - he cannot fall for her and so will have to learn to ignore his attraction to the gorgeous woman who already owns most of his heart. If they have any hope of a HEA, they just have a few tasks - banish an all-powerful demon, take down an evil magical organisation and stop a prophecy that a dragon will consume Mina - easy right?
This was the last book in the series and was definitely a fitting end to such a dramatic set of books. Mina and Josh were great with their dancing around the fact that they really loved each other but thought they could never be together, but in the meantime would protect and be a support for each other. Thank goodness they cracked and changed everything to be a physical relationship! I loved the drama and excitement in the story, how loose ends were mostly sorted out, and how sometimes the threads were only connected when there was no other option left and it was a last-ditch effort. I loved the way the story ended and my only gripe is that together is not the same as being married and I wish that was at the end. Well written and easy to read/understand. Contains a little sexual content.

Review: Complete Me by K.E. Osborn 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book contains the stories from the perspectives of three men - all of them were confident, admired, respected and cherished by the woman in their lives as well as their family but they are all connected via those men. Whilst they feel that they are complete, truth is something that will be harder to find to really be complete. Can they all get through the truth, come to terms with it, then have a truly happy ending?
This was a great way to finish this series by giving them all the proper happy ending that we all wanted them to have (even if we hadn't actually realised it). I loved the way that each of the three stories expanded on the relationship between that man and the woman he loved, the way that their life was developing after the end of the previous book and how they (and their relationship) handled truth and that they were strong enough to handle whatever life threw at them. Well written, easy to read and understand, contained explicit sexual content. A great ending to the series and it has left me feeling that it really is complete and that nothing is unfinished.

Review: Tucker by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Veteran Tucker has always stood up for the underdog and so when he is offered a mission to save a war dog unfairly judged and slated for termination near his sister's wedding he can't let it happen without a fight. Nurse Addie knows that her sister lied about being attacked by the dog but is not sure of the extent that she will go against the dog that she now hates. Addie is determined to help the dog that she loves and finding Tucker there to champion the cause too, she is quick to ally herself to him to try and save the dog. Now if only he didn’t have a nightmare scenario of his own … one that threatens to take them all down, including the dog.
I really enjoyed this story that had some great insights into the motivation behind Addie's sister's behaviour as well as how evil some people can be. I loved the way that Tucker was determined to fight to save the dog as well as his realisation that he was drawn to Addie too. It was definitely dramatic around the danger to the dog as well as to Tucker and Addie with Tucker doing his best to keep everyone alive. I have a small confession to make - I was secretly relieved and pleased with what happened to Addie's sister at the end of the story as she 100% deserved it. Well written and easy to read/understand. I could definitely feel the thoughts and emotions of the characters in this story. Contains some explicit sexual content at the end of this story.

Review: Grow Some Gills by Savannah Verte 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Mer Sturgeon Barrow is both stubborn as well as wild. Still being defiant and very difficult he almost flees before he gets the chance to meet the one meant to tame him, but Gerri Wilder of the PDA plants such a tempting seed that he just can't resist finding out more. Octopus Nera Daren knows exactly who her mate is but he has a playboy reputation so she leaves him to work it out of his system until he is ready to meet her. When she returns solo to the black waters where she normally lives she has no regrets even though she hasn't met him but can she stay there? The water realms are hanging on a precipice when residents keep disappearing but is there time for them to consummate their bond or will it have to wait? Could this be a very usual case of Gerri's timing being off>
I enjoyed this story which was fairly dramatic as the plot was definitely in force and threatening all of the beasts in the water realms. I liked the way that they finally came together although either I missed a proper resolution to the mystery or that is still outstanding to the next story in the series (which has confused me as Turg seemed to be at the heart of it). Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: The Kelpie's Redemption: Federal Paranormal Unit by Alexa Gregory 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Kelpie Sorcha Ross spent centuries as an unwilling assassin, but most recently was living a quiet and happy life in Scotland with no master's commands to follow. Then she wakes up in an unfamiliar location next to the body of a drowned man - and the seaweed around him confirms that he's been killed by Sorcha. Needing to prove himself to the FPU as no one believes that a naid can be serious enough, agent Fitzroy Yarrow is determined to show them otherwise. Then when he is finally given a case and is trying to concentrate on it, his nsaid just wants to go into the glistening waters and enjoy the sexy red-head who seems to be connected. What is he to do when he realised that the object of his desire is holding a secret that can compromise his position at the FPU and can Sorsha trust a man who is doing everything he can to show her that he is different to others? Will they win the race against time to find the person controlling Sorcha before they make her kill again?
I liked this story which had lots of danger and drama mixed in with plenty of love and passion. I was impressed with the fact that the so-called flighty nsaid was able to control himself enough to pull someone else in to remove a gross clash of interests which keeping his involvement at a level that was acceptable. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: King of Midnight by Tasha Black 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Sara Mason has had dreams since childhood featuring the mansion on the cliffside and although it feels magical in there she never expected a midnight visit to end in her taking place in a mysterious ball in a fairy realm on the other side of a mirror, let alone to find herself in the arms of a man with a smile that is both sad and cruel. Fae Dorian has been imprisoned as the King of Midnight for centuries until a lovely young woman appears at his nightly ball leaving him with an internal battle between the need to explore a longing for her and the need to protect her. When the mirror is broken the king is released into her world as are other creatures - can she find her own magic via her song with the help of Dorian or will he be forced back into the mirror as the King of Midnight before her can express his love for her and make her his Queen?
This was a sweet light story that could have been improved with more details and description of the ball and Dorian's environment but was still enjoyable. I did enjoy the setting of the old disused mansion and the proximity to Tarka's Hollow. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Claim to Flame by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Ashley is a businesswoman but wants to be valued as the strong and powerful businesswoman that she is. However, the company's board of directors are all old men who hate the idea of a single woman being that way. So her mother insists that she talk to Gerri Wilder for assistance as if she fixes her private life that will fix her professional life too. Dragons Flare and Blaze run a competitive pharmaceutical company but they need their mate to cement their leadership roles. When they meet Ashley they know she is the woman for them as she is feisty, sweet and can handle two strong men by herself. When you take in her beautiful and curvy body it makes it just hard to concentrate on their jobs. Then Ashley realises that Flare and Blaze are a bigger problem than the board of directors as they are her direct competition - add to that the fact that someone is out to get them and her out of the way and it becomes a fight to both love and survival - can she find a way to balance romance and career or will everything go up in smoke?
I enjoyed this story which was a nice twist of a PDA story with the common enemy who would enjoy nothing more than taking them all out of the running. It was interesting to read about her misgivings as well as her determination to protect both her men from attempts to kill them. I enjoyed the incidents at the motor racing as well as the ones out at sea. It was great to see how even if they didn't know about their draw to each other they had already a strongly developed sense to protect the other party. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Honorable Rogue by Linda J. Parisi 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Vampire Hunter Pierce was a Roman gladiator and slave and so only knows death and destruction - certainly not love. Tori (Dr Victoria Roberts) has only ever known love and safety until the fateful day that a home invasion destroyed her world. Having met at a wedding, their worlds collide and with a situation involving Blood Rogues menacing both humans and vampires Tori is suddenly in danger and Hunter has no one to blame for the situation but himself. So in order to keep her close, he enlists her help to find a cure for the poison that is being used by the rogue vampires to kill - called Nirvana. So when Tori is kidnapped, Hunter faces his corrupt master which then starts a race against the clock to save his own life. But can a vampire who has only ever watched out for himself rick his life and immortality for the love of a human? Also, can a human who has lost everything rebuild her shattered heart with a man who is convinced he doesn't have one himself? Only love, trust, and an Honorable Rogue can save them all.
OMG - this book certainly started slowly and seemed a little monotonous at one point with the constant arguing between them, but please stick with it as it will all start to come together and then the cards will start to tumble as the barriers start to fall and only courage by both of them will suddenly give the HEA you always knew was hiding in there. I loved the insights back to the former lives of both of them as well as some of the other characters in the story. I would dearly love for there to be something wonderful for Sam to happen and just hope that it will be in a later book in the series. Well written and easy to read and understand, I defy anyone not to be pulling for them to sort out their differences and find a way to love each other. A great addition to this series.

Review: Special Effects by L.J. Vickery 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Intergalactic powerhouse metal band Wortthest' drummer Kels Xafer is currently in huge peril unaware of a threat against him until several threats against his life make it clear that someone does not want him around anymore. He hopes to discover who wants him dead with the help of the FPU but his attraction to the drangel assigned to his case might put them both in serious danger. Drangel Sallsy is frustrated as she watches her sisters find mates and fall in love. When she waits months for the guy she is crushing on to ask her out she asks Gerri Wilder from the PDA for help but she just explains to her that things don't always work out as you expect it to which makes her wonder if her reputation is deserved. Can Sallsy find love or is she fated to always be alone?
I enjoyed this story which merged the world of the FPU, the Gemma-Hydrox drangels and a heavy metal band really well. I liked the typical human relationships and problems that caused the plot to get rid of Kels and loved the way that both he and Sallsy were drawn together and to protect each other from the start. Lots of drama and excitement plus it was a fun read which was both easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Primal Protector by L.J. Vickery 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Galvez might be unapproachable and grumpy, but even though he is a loner he has always been a team player. But when on mission with the team it starts to feel personal as one woman is getting under his skin and rethinking his reclusive lifestyle and the biggest reveal of his life. Bambu is forced to work for her evil brother in order to take care of her 5-year-old sister. But when Galvez is suddenly in the menagerie of creatures she is forced to look after, he offers her hope and a potential partnership even if it has strings attached. Can she make that choice?
Wow her brother was definitely a very evil and twisted man who needed stopping in any way they could. I was thrilled for Galvez to take a part in a story and to be so central to this one was a delight. I loved the way that their relationship built and how they had to trust each other completely in order to survive. The anatomy details were a little odd and I'm really struggling to get my head around that. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: His Protector by L.J. Vickery 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Alpha of a wolfpack, working for the FPU and a drangel, Gabriel Quenterra has a lot on his hands without any distractions. The biggest distraction is Val - a handsome Strarbian drangel who seems to want a relationship with him. The problem is he has no time for a full-on relationship, but maybe a short fling would help. Valor Addis has been attracted to Gabe since coming to Earth but a dire secret makes it far too dangerous to enter into a relationship with anyone, and yet he could give Gabe his heart so easily. If the alpha makes an overture his resolve is likely to crumble and it will be one hell of a way to fall to pieces.
This was a fun story with two people fighting against the inevitable while also fighting towards it too. It was so great when they finally woke up to what was actually true and that they were not going to be able to avoid it no matter how much they denied it. Well written and easy to understand. Contains M:M explicit sexual content.

Review: Kano's Keep by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Kano had hoped not to have to deal with his part connections in Paris ever again but instead, here he is going to deal with DeeDee the vindictive and powerful mother of his first love Catherine in order to find clues on who blew up Bullard's plane and is now after the rest of the team. Then when he sees Catherine, he can't stop thinking of her and how she has matured into someone he could never have imagined and certainly can never forget even if he is still afraid of her powerful mother who seems to be setting him up to die (again). Catherine hadn't expected to see Kano again but this time is determined not to let him walk away and she is prepared to face off against her own mother to save him. What she might not have realised completely is that she will have to plumb the depths of her own soul and that of her family to save Kano and herself.
Wow, this was certainly a dramatic instalment in the story of who attacked Bullard and is after the rest of the team. I loved the way that Catherine had accepted what he mother was, that she was determined not to be like her, but was also prepared to play her at her own games sometimes in order to protect those who she cared for. I loved a couple of twists in the story and the dramatic ending which ended a lot better than it had the potential to. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content at the end of the story.

Review: Claiming His Cougar by Roxanne Witherell 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
still waiting for the PDA's Gerri Wilder to find her a mate, heiress Charlotte Lumos is losing all hope when she picks up a message and she is set up with a much younger man - the question is will he be mature enough for her? Single male Charles Gunner is an agent with the Federal Paranormal Unit and is not looking for commitment or anything like that but when he runs into Charlotte she is all he can think about. However, it appears that someone else has Charlotte in their sights and this is a case that he cannot afford to lose. When mysterious accidents start happening, and danger seems to be coming from all angles, will he be able to protect his newfound mate?
I enjoyed this story with the paranormal dating agency and the federal paranormal unit at the heart of the story. The mysterious attacker was almost an obvious source except that it was not the exact person that it could have been. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content and some themes of BDSM.

Review: The Alien Assassin's Stolen Bride by Michele Mills 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Hannah's friends seem to have ditched her and she is tuck doing the tour of Hearst Castle and so she ends up seated next to a muscular dangerous-looking man dressed in black with white skin and silver eyes. Heriot is an assassin which an impressive kill rate of 100%. Finding her means he has turned into some raging, rutting beast which is not helpful to the mission. Can he convince his innocent mate to return with him to his home planet before his time is up, or will he be forced to steal her?
This novella-length story had the makings of a dramatic battle between him and the target as well as the finding of a dangerous hidden substance but instead, it became an x-rated romp in hidden spaces between him and Hannah as they fought to keep his reaction to finding her under control. Review: The Nanny and the Alien Warrior by Honey Phillips 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Human Joanna was snatched from Earth and her peaceful academic life by alien slavers and sold to an alien warlord called K’herra as a nanny to his precocious daughter, Sultavi. Sadly a year later finds him dead and Joanna and Sultavi are on the run from the killers who want to use the child to take over his title and assets. Their only hope is the help of a mercenary who owes K'herra a debt of honour and they find themselves in the protection of a green warrior called Craxan with incredibly sad eyes. Craxan lost his family to a plague that decimated the Cire race and has reluctantly agreed to help them but the little girl and human female quickly win him over but the more time he spends with them the more he is convinced that they belong with him - but can this worn-out warrior keep them safe?
I really enjoyed this story which clearly showed that family does not have to be a direct blood relative. Sultavi was a typical precocious child and it was a joy to see the way she had Craxan completely under her thumb trying to please her and make her happy. I loved Joanna and how protective she was of the little girl while also being a strong and jealous mate for Craxan. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Defending Her Honey Badger by Renee Hewett 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Octopus shifter Risa Neubauer works in the Federal Paranormal Unit (FPU) and after her partner met her mate and left she has been hiding with computers and not finding a place in the field. But when manager Cynthia Vega tasks her with infiltrating the Cult of Crinis, Risa can’t turn it down as she was among the team who’d discovered them. Badger shifter Theodore “Teddy” Ludwick loves being in the so-called Badass Badger Squad and so is not impressed at being put on a joint task force mission with Risa from the Aquaterrestrial Task Force, but things change when he realises that the petite blonde is actually his mate. Can they learn to work together and can Teddy learn to trust her enough to get Risa close enough to the cult leader?
I enjoyed this story which has a great mixture of fated mates, an evil cult and learning to trust each other. I loved the way that they had such a bad start between them but quickly had to get used to working together and trusting each other implicitly. I loved Risa who was such a cool shifter and the way that fate would put an octopus with a badger (which just seems crazy). Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Star Bright by L.J. Vickery 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Retired Ranger and now fashion designer Alpha Star Porter, or Asp as she is known to her friends, reluctantly seeks the assistance of Gerri Wilder from the Paranormal Dating Agency to find a mate. She especially needs help as she has a very screwed up past and the man will need to be very patient, but she is not the sort of person to walk away from a challenge and so is determined to find the right one, so she will meet the guy that Gerri insists is there for her. Space Pirate Torque Addis is doing what he thinks is his last big job before he can escape the clutches of the blackmailers who are making him steal for them. He wishes someone could come along, wave a magic wand and change the screwed up life.
I really enjoyed this story of Asp and Tor and how they got together. It was full of drama, danger and passion and I was thrilled that everything worked out for them. As for what happened at the end, well done the guys who sorted out everything for Asp - never was there a better way to show her how loved she was. Well written and easy to read and understand. Definitely the kind of book that I was unable to put down. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: The Willow Rescue by Renee Hewett 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Zebra Moray shifter Willow Baldwin is a member of the Federal Paranormal Unit’s (FPU) Aquaterrestrial Task Force. Her next job sounds really boring just looking for missing fish but then she realises it is near the protective and secretive underwater domed city Ursanis in the Arctic. The Ursanis Prince Graham Auman is on a multi-year trip from his home on land to find his mate although he is resigned to the fact that no woman would give up the land to live underwater with him forever. Learning that there is trouble at home he takes that opportunity to return home although it appears that he has to check in with the FPU first as they want to send agents with him to help. At their first meeting, Willow and Graham know they are mates, but that takes a second seat to the mission. They have to stop a secretive cult from stealing the fish who are keeping an Old One asleep because if the ancient monster wakes, it could mean the end of the world. Can Graham get past his reservations and can they crack the case and stop the end of the world?
This was a great mystery story that had the added mates factor to make it much more interesting. I did find some aspects of Graham's denial a bit irritating and it seemed to take him far too long to realise with was real and could not be ignored. I loved sassy Willow and the fact that she was determined to do a good job and not let anyone hold her back - even from saving those that she loved.

Review: Fated Crown by Eva Chase 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Talia thought she had lost everything when she was abducted and taken into the Fae realm but she has made a life there with far more love than he could have ever imagined. But she still has a link back to the mortal world. Can she decide whether to stay on the human or fae side? Looking at the love she has for the four men in the Fae realm it seems she cannot give up the men whom she adores and so will stay where she can help the most people even though there is yet another arch-lord attempt to tear her from her lovers. There seems to be another trial awaiting her - she only hopes she is up to the job.
This was definitely a dramatic instalment to the series with plenty of plots and careful negotiation required by pretty much all of the men in Talia's life as well as by her. I did like some of the things that she tried to do which I thought were very reasonable. It was great to see the way her confidence has grown and how she seemed to be prepared to negotiate directly with some of the Fae in an attempt to isolate her lovers from her aims. I loved the way that it ended on another one of the author's bombshells and I can't wait to find out the who and the why. Well written and easy to read/understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: The Alien Assassin's Convenient Wife by Ruby Dixon 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Alien Jadzion is one half of an intergalactic assassin team and is currently in New Mexico on Earth searching for his assigned target while his brother Heriot is in California looking for his. Their targets are gun-runner on a galactic scale and Jadzion has a problem - he waited until the last minute to go planetside and his target is now at a couples retreat - as a single male, he cannot enter to search for him. The solution seems obvious to him - he needs a wife just for the weekend to capture his mark. Using a thing known as a "dating app" he finds a woman called Jenna but when he tells her that he needs to marry her right away she is understandably confused. But the longer she is around Jadzion the more she thinks he is not from around here and that he might just be the one for her.
I quite enjoyed this novella which was quite amusing considering the type of couples retreat they were at and the way that Jadzion reacted. I thought that the way he managed to do the cleanup efficiently while ensuring that Jenna was safe and well showed that he was not as bad at his job as could have been believed. Easy to understand and read. Contains explicit sexual content in places especially at the end.

Review: Bite Me Harder by Chris Genovese 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Continuing from the previous book in the series we see what happens when a lonely shark shifter meets a carefree surfer, an alpha shark shifter focussed on revenge and a DJ who is no longer confident after a shark attack. It seems that once again there is plenty of passion but also a large dose of pain as the battles between the sharks intensifies and the main victims in the middle are innocent humans. Can the two couples who are coming together in this story survive the battles ahead and have the HEA they want and deserve?
This was very dramatic and had a lot of storylines coming together as well as the requisite romance and inter shark shifter politics. Well written, easy to read and understand as well as enjoyable. Contains explicit sexual content.

FEATURED NEW RELEASE - Filthy Grizzly (Junkyard Shifters Book 6) by Liza Street
#wolfpackreads #WolfPackBookBuzz
“You nearly crossed the boundary line,” Dallas said, pointing to Octavia’s toes near the gravel.
“Did not.”
“Did, too.”
“My feet have been on this side of the gravel the whole time,” she said. “Obviously. Because I’m not over there with you.”
“Right. But you know if you get too close, if you put your hand just over the wall, I can grab it and yank you in,” Dallas warned.
She slackened her face in pretend shock, widening her deep brown eyes. “No, really?”
He glared. Impertinent little sprite.
And then the little sprite thrust out her arm, her face screwed up in an expression of exaggerated fear. “Don’t do it, Dallas Cruthers! Don’t take advantage of my naivete! I simply could not handle it.”
“You’re going to be sorry,” he growled, then reached for her hand.
He expected her to pull away with a laugh, but instead, she left her hand there, and Dallas wrapped his fingers around hers.
The connection between them was charged. Not a zap like electricity, but a conflagration travelling up his arm, like a wildfire raging through his blood.
He wanted Octavia. He’d wanted her since seeing her three years ago at Victor’s party.
He didn’t yank her into the Junkyard, though, like he’d threatened. He’d never do that.
But Olivia Waltersfeld, trapped in here? And without her overprotective brother around, growling and snapping at anyone who looked at her?
That was the stuff of wet dreams, that was.
With reluctance, Dallas let her go.
“Maybe you should run on home,” he said, his voice raspy with need. Fuck, he had to get control of himself. Victor’s little sister. Victor’s little sister. If he could just remember that, maybe he could keep his hands off of her.
Review: Oh, Bite Me by Chris Genovese 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Shark shifter Thane patrols the sea off the coast of Australia trying to protect humans from natural and rebel sharks. However, that leaves him precious time to find a mate for himself. Penny swore off dating after meeting the wrong kind of shifter but a chance meeting with the PDA's Gerri Wilder by the pool while on vacation, so will she find what she was looking for in Thane when she meets him on a so-called party cruise or will she find herself in dangerous water?
This was a nice story about society, evilness and strife between good and evil all wrapped around a story of a shifter finding his mate and turning her into a shark shifter The method was quite graphically described and a bit far fetched by it fit into the book. Well written and easy to read/understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Keeping Pace by L.J. Vickery 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Retired US Army Space Ranger, and full-time space trucker Pace Ruffalo is tired of playing the fields and ready to find the right woman and settle down. His mother has paraded loads of debutantes in front of him but they do nothing for him - he needs someone to satisfy his rather diverse libido. So when Gerri Wilder of the Paranormal Dating Agency says she has someone to fit the bill he jumps at the chance. On Gemma-Hydrox when you become a wife and mother you are forced to stay as a female - something that Lola Xeltrax is not happy with and so has avoided it up until now. So she is thrilled when Gerri Wilder picks her as a match for a man from Earth but she will need to seduce him and then maybe tell him her secrets he won't run away. Lola really hopes she can have the best of both worlds.
I really enjoyed this story which had a perfect pairing between a bisexual man and a woman who can choose which sex she wants to be. I liked the confusion and how that played out between them as Pace and Lola learnt how to trust each other and have what appears to be a perfect relationship. It was also very progressive (in some ways) for Pace to refuse to sign the agreement to force her to change permanently. They had a great relationship so I can't wait to see them in future books in the series. Easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Wild Game by Alisa Woods 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Owen Harding is ex-Army and after spending a year in Agent Smith’s experimental cages he is now working as a bodyguard for beautiful gaming heiress Nova Wilding. Currently, a hate group is hunting the Wilding pack, and Owen's wolf just wants Nova, but she is clearly off-limits. The pack members and especially one of the betas clearly want to mate with Nova to gain both her and the gaming company that she inherited from her assassinated father. But when a bomb goes off in her car she finds herself in her sexy bodyguard's arms and has to keep telling herself that he is the wrong man at the wrong time for her. While Nova fights to keep her gaming company afloat, and Owen fights to keep her alive, the hate group circles closer and closer… until they both find that falling in love might be the most dangerous game of all.
I loved this story which had lots of levels of drama and danger as Nova and Owen had to roll with the different events as they happened with the one constant - that they were together doing their best to stay safe and together. The beta was certainly a nasty piece of work and I was glad when he was no longer a problem for them both. Well written and very enjoyable. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Hannibal by Tasha Black 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
With intellect and an eye to detail, Violet Locke has a blind point - she is not very good with people. So when a hunky alien moves in downstairs and immediately falls for her, will she learn finally to listen to her heart instead of her head? Hannibal and his brothers are doing their best to assimilate into life on Earth while they find their mates among human women, as even when he finds himself his mate in the form of Violet Locke he has no clue on how on earth he can talk to her let alone reveal his feelings for her. When Vi’s latest project turns into a race against time to find a neighbour’s missing dog, the two will have to work together to track it down. Though they might be close to finding the kidnapped pooch, Hannibal is afraid Vi will fail to discover that what has truly been missing from her life is love.
This was a really sweet story that had alien Hannibal struggling to communicate with Vi who is hardly the best communicator with people let alone the opposite sex. I loved the mystery of the missing dogs and how they were able to investigate them as well as the way that Vi's family interactions were also laid bare as part of telling the background to her. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content at the end of the story.

Review: The Billionaire Shifter's Curvy Match by Diana Seere 2 of 5 stars
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
After being laid off Lilah Murphy starts serving drinks in the exclusive Platinum Club in order to help keep herself, her younger sister Jess and her sick mother. Biotech billionaire and shifter Gavin Stanton has had one taste of the new, curvy server and his craving could never be satisfied until he had her fully. Completely. Fate has brought them together, but a centuries-old secret could tear them apart, for the Stanton family holds a shifter legacy that no human has ever threatened. Is she strong enough to embrace his secrets—and her own?
I'm fine with the basic story of the shifter and a fated mate, but all of the family politics and bickering was a bit much in this story as was some of the drama in the Platinum Club. I was close to not finishing it and just giving in but in the end, I skipped a chunk of chapters and finished it. I won't try the next book in the series. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Nash by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Veteran Nash had been struggling with his recovery after his last set of surgeries and had pushed for a transfer to Hathaway House on an old friend's recommendation. After multiple delays, he finally makes it there only find out that he is not ready to make the progress he hopes to make there. Then on his first day there, he comes face to face with old flame Alicia - the only woman he has ever loved and the last woman he wants to see him in his current condition. Alicia let Nash go more than a decade ago as she wasn't willing to settle for a long-distance relationship with a sailor, but when her brother became ill not long afterwards her own dreams were shattered and she instead cared for him then after his untimely death caring for others. Seeing Nash again is a great pleasure tinged with pain although their rapport is back in an instant as if they were never apart. Can they make it work now or after all this time is it is fruitless exercise?
This was a really sweet story that showed that there can be a chance for love the second time around and that it is much better because of the life experiences you have lived through to get there. I loved all of the soul searching and the discussion around grief and that you cannot sit on it and leave it buried if you want to move on with your life. I loved the way that everyone around them was supportive and giving them both the encouragement they needed to sort out the things in their lives that needed attention so that they could move on. I loved the ending and the way that Nash made sure that when he was sure of what he wanted he went for it. Well written and easy to read and understand.

Review: Mama and the Alien Warrior by Honey Phillips 3 of 5 stars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Abby Wentworth never regretted abandoning her corporate career to adopt her orphaned niece and run a maternity home. But she certainly never expected to find herself and her girls abducted by aliens on an illegal Vedeckian trader who intends to sell them as breeders. When Captain Hrebec's ship rescues them she finds herself drawn to him just as he suddenly starts to long for a mate and a family as he finds himself treating both Abby and her daughter with unwavering devotion. But Abby has to get her girls back to Earth, and Hrebec may have one last chance to save his race. Will their duties force them apart? Or will they finally find a family of their own?
It was on the face of it was a sweet story but as I read it I became increasingly irritated by Abby and her insistence on their return to Earth without any thought for what the girls that she was responsible for actually wanted (and they were mostly consenting adults with free will and not idiots). I loved Hrebec and how he was trying to do the right thing even if he needed a kick from someone for him to see that he had an opportunity to have it all. Pleasant to read. Contains a lot of explicit sexual content.

Review: Cole by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
On the first time Navy SEAL Cole Chamberlain was at Hathaway House he pushed himself too hard, took himself off his meds (without telling anyone) and caused so much harm that he ended up back in the hospital. Now he has returned to Hathaway House and is hoping that he can get his recovery back on track. Nurse Sandra Denver feels very responsible for what happened to Cole as she could (and should) have prevented it if only she had done a better job of making sure he was taking his meds. Now he is back she finds it hard to trust him and herself - and that will not make his recovery any easier. For Cole's sake, Sandra needs to help him to overcome his stumbling blocks as well as those of her own - with any chance they'll find a second chance at recovery for them both.
This was a lovely story that contained several lessons in life that could apply to us all - it is better to get emotions out and not bottle them up and results that take time and need a consistent effort. I loved the way that they both grew and that the result for them both was a chance at something very special between them. The ending of this story definitely made me smile and feel the joy that they had got past all of their problems. Well written and easy to read and understand.

Review: Heavenly Protector by L.J. Vickery 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The FPU director Thomas Wheeler has loaned his team to the Premier Guard on another planet and he and his right-hand Martin Galvez can't run an entire department on their own. So when he hears that a contingency of six from Gamma-Hydrox who might fit the bill, he is elated and stunned because he has never ever come across anything like them. Reena can't wait to leave Gemma-Hydrox to start the new job on Earth. As she and her colleagues were all incarcerated for the majority of their lives she has dreamed of seeing new worlds and meeting new people. What has completely floored her is that her new box has a secret that he has kept hidden from everyone (including himself). He tries to keep himself at a professional distance but she digs in her claws - she knows exactly what he is and how to help him.
I really enjoyed this story which had a great mix of aliens, shifters criminals and fated mates. The personal elements in the story tied the characters together well and I loved that Wheeler had answers as to what and who he was even though there are still questions that need to be answered. Lots of danger and drama (as I would expect from the FPU stories) and also more knowledge about the Gemma-Hydrox shifters. Well written and easy to read. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Noxx by Tasha Black 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Luna is going to have all of her dreams come true when the Alien Adoption Agency flies her in a rickety spacecraft to a frontier moon to meet the child she will raise in exchange for 100 acres of land and a modest stipend. What she didn't realise was that there were dangerous animals there, short nights nor the big blue warrior who has informed her he is the security for the infant. Noxx is a proud Invicta dragon warrior who has up to recently used his strength and endurance to protect his homeland - so an interruption to his career to guard a baby is an unwelcome assignation from his commander. Even worse - he has started to bond with the child and as soon as he sets eyes on the adoptive mother he knows she is his fated mate - can he refuse the dark-haired beauty? When a last-minute trek through the forest of Clotho gets them entangled in a dangerous battle, Luna will have to learn to trust the hunky blue warrior. But can the dragon let go of his duty long enough to let himself love someone, and be loved in return?
I enjoyed this book with the grumpy Noxx and the caring Luna who had quite a backbone when she had to have one. The way that she surprised him with her skills setting up some of the technical equipment was great to read as he was starting to think she could not be capable of such things. An enjoyable story with some moments of danger and drama as well as tender loving moments too. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Game Player by Elizabeth Knox by K.E. Osborn 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Great value sports-based anthology. Lots of great stories - the one I enjoyed the most was this one -
Push the Limit by KE Osborn -5*
This is about Dan and his competitor's daughter Eden and how things turned out for them on the drag racing circuit. Definitely full of action and also an insight into his childhood which still affects him now. Connects neatly into the Houston Defiance series of books although you don't have to have read any of them to enjoy this story. A great read that I really enjoyed as it fits really well into both the sports and the MC genres of books. Contains just a little sexual content.

Review: All of Me by K.E. Osborn 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Finance executive Aiden O'Connell has recently been exonerated of the recent charges against him but is now a broken man after Jeni broke his heart. After the attack on her by her ex Jason, her mind seems to be altered and she seems unable to see that not all men are the same - so she walked away from him. Finding life so much harder she talks to a friend and it becomes apparent that she has PTSD and now Aiden's father is completely off the rails and out of control. Then an unexpected death changes everything. Whilst life is never meant to be easy, can they both move forward and get on with their lives together now?
OMG - this penultimate instalment in the series certainly had it all. Tortured thoughts and working through them to come out the other side a much better person, bullying and finding the courage to face it and take the power back, unstoppable love that just cannot die and good family and friends that you can always rely on. Well written and easy to read and understand. There were moments when I was definitely annoyed with Jeni (but that is the common feature of this series), but in the end, she came good and sorted herself out - more importantly, she thought about someone other than herself! In all of this about Aiden and Jeni, I feel I need to bring up Sarah and Chris - two vital friends who do everything they can to support and be accepting of anything that happens to their best friends during all of their troubles. I am so glad they had their own HEA and wonder if they will feature more in the final book in the series. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: They Lurk by Wesley Thomas 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Horror movie-obsessed Jack is 16 years old. He and his older brother Dan live with foster mothers Tracy and Barb. Their small town has fallen prey to monsters and ghouls while a hungry serial killer is also terrorising everyone. It seems as if the two brothers can work out what the problem is and solve it especially as the victims are drained of their vitamin D. Can they get to the bottom of this world that should be limited to books and movies?
I really enjoyed this story as we experienced Jack trying his best to find out and solve the problems in his small town with the reluctant help of big brother Dan. It was great to see them get closer as well as work together when it was necessary. The identity of the serial killer was a surprise and it was great to see how the case was solved by the end of the story. I enjoyed being on the journey with the guys as they worked through the clues as they came. As always the author's writing was exceptional at describing the scenes and the people involved in the story. His writing always makes me feel like I am looking at it myself and experiencing exactly what is happening.

Review: Protection Detail by Roxanne Witherell 4 of 5 stars
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Honeybadger shifter Heather Rockfell has anger issues and is, therefore, a liability to the Federal Paranormal Unit. Her punishment is a suspension and is forced to take anger management classes. Not one to sit around and do nothing, while out having dinner with her twin brother, something happens that will change her life forever. Human Shelby Master is determined to do what is best for his son and that means he has to keep him away from those who want to take him away. He also needs someone who understands what it means to be a shifter to help his son cope with life in general. Someone wants Shelby dead and so maybe with the help and protection of the beautiful Heather, he will have the answers soon enough. Heather is now on security detail, guarding both Shelby and his son while trying to find out who is after him and why. Things heat up and danger is getting closer. Can they both survive?
I really enjoyed this story as it showed that even the most aggressive member of the FPU team has a softer side that applies to those she loves and cares for. I loved the twists in the story and the fact that even though he was human Shelby was determined to not be soft and be just as prepared to defend those who he loved. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Snap, Crackle ... by Dale Mayer 5 of 5 stars
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Hunter's first encounter with Bethany reveals an injured, exhausted and possibly dangerous psychic on the run from a gunman in the woods who is uncooperative, barely civil and keeps everyone at arm's length. However, she badly needs help and he is available to provide that help. As a hunter, it is time for him to turn things around for her so she is no longer hunted plus he can champion the underdog in the form of a very beautiful woman who he seems unwilling to let out of his sight. Not only is she being hunted, but they seem to want her back again as a captive to do their bidding, plus they enlisted another of their group to help with that hunt - her ex-best friend Lizzy. They want, no need, her to remember who she really is … With Hunter at her side, Bethany fights for survival, racing toward an explosive reveal that leaves them all gasping, as their world turns upside down.
OMG - I have so missed this series and this dramatic book showed me exactly why. It was all about evilness, experimentation, physic skills, compassion, friendship and love. I loved the way that Hunter stuck to Bethany and helped and supported her through everything as they also slowly started in small stages to trust each other. I loved the way the story developed and the twists and turns as they navigated the situation as it were at that time. As for the series of twists at the end - I certainly did not see some of those coming up! Well written and easy to read, feel and understand.
