Review: Darak by Cara Bristol 4 of 5 stars

Darak (Dakonian Alien Mail Order Brides #1; Intergalactic Dating Agency)Darak by Cara Bristol
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lexi Sutterman is a pastry chef with her own business but her family is hypercritical and she is viewed as a failure. So she gave up on finding a man or pleasing her family and it just concentrating on building up her business. Her uber-successful sister is about to marry a wealthy and successful man and so she fights back by joining the Intergalactic Dating Agency with the attempt to bring the most outlandish alien as her plus one to the wedding. Darak or the planet Drakon isn't purple nor tentacled but he is seven-foot-tall and horned. Tired of waiting for the fates he joins a dating service to meet a nice girl from Earth to call his own. As soon as he sees her he recognises Lexi as his true mate but realises to convince her is going to take more than just a weekend and is not going to be easy. Can they get their just deserts?

This was a sweet quick read that had a strong alien, a strong woman and a rocky journey to true love with the complication of family and the various dramas in that situation. I loved Lexi, her sister Toni and it was even fun to read about their nightmare of a mother who seriously deserved a slap at times. A fun light read with a touch of drama, a little danger and a lot of cupcakes! Contains some sexual content.
