Urban had lost his spot at another centre and with Lance's help he was placed at Hathaway House and he has arrived there now although his arrival was painful thanks to the journey. Scarred and injured he starts to want to be more than as good as he can be because he has met someone special there. Bettina had her heartstrings tugged as Urban struggled to sit, work and make something of his life. He surprises her with his good humour but also struggles to be with others due to his scars. She refuses to accept that. He needs to see how wonderful he is, regardless of the war wounds he is left with but she needs to get him to believe it.
I enjoyed this book with the injured man who has physical and mental injuries as he struggles to get back into physical shape while also adjusting to his new life where he can start a new career. His brother seems to have been willing to help but aware enough to make sure that Urban chooses what he needs and how that can be achieved. A lot of analysis of the emotions involved and the deepening of the relationship between Urban and Bettina. Easy to read, feel and understand.
