Review: Green Light by Lark Taylor 4 of 5 stars

Green Light (Caffeine Daydreams, #2)

Green Light by Lark Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kai should be happy - his childhood best friend and he are living their wildest dream making music and touring the world as famous rock stars. But he doesn't have Silas the way that he wants and although they behave raunchy together on stage it is just an act which is torture for him. Then after an onstage moment, he goes past his breaking point and can't bear the heartache anymore so tries to find a way to only see him as a friend before he loses him completely. Silas's life is split into two chapters - before Kai and after Kai. Silas's childhood was a nightmare which became brighter when he met Kai who took him into his life, his family and his home. When an onstage moment shines a light on the cracks in their foundation, Silas's eyes are opened to a truth that’s been right in front of him the entire time - something he wants to explore. Kai seems to have moved on but Silas won't give in no matter the risk.

I enjoyed this emotional story as the two best friends became inseparable and loved each other but not in the same way until Kai reached his limit and Silas had time and space to think about their relationship. As part of that, he went through a bi-awakening and with some support from the other bandmates he was able to work out a few things. I was thrilled when they ended up sorting everything out and getting a HEA as they both deserved. Easy to read, feel and understand this is an emotional story. This is an MM story with mature content.
