Review: Necessary Time by Kate Hawthorne 4 of 5 stars

Necessary Time (All in Good Time #2)

Necessary Time by Kate Hawthorne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wesley had been drinking with his lifelong best friend who unexpectedly kissed him. He then ran away from home without so much as a goodbye to California where his older brother lived. The kiss brought up all kinds of feelings he wasn't ready for just like all the feelings he got when he was introduced to his brother's hot co-worker Colin. Colin first kissed a man eight years ago and since then he has been living in the closet too scared to disappoint his mother's wish for a daughter-in-law. Wesley, and the feelings he stirs up inside of Colin, remind him of his past. They also promise him a future that’s always felt out of reach. Neither of them has been with a man before and Hendrix would kill Colin if he discovered him making out with his barely legal brother let alone how crushed his parents would be. But all things come together in time.

I enjoyed this story with both men inexperienced, confused and yet drawn to each other. I loved the way that Wesley grew into himself and that eventually he got a backbone and was able to articulate what he wanted and needed to everyone. They started with a friendship and then it was great to experience them moving onto something far deeper and meaningful (as well as physical). Easy to read, feel and understand there were a lot of complex emotions in this story. This is an MM story with mature content.
