Review: Yowls in the Yarrow by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Yowls in the Yarrow (Lovely Lethal Gardens #25)

Yowls in the Yarrow by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Doreen may have had enough of the antics from her estranged husband but it was quite a shock when she showed up dead in the garden outside her favourite Chinese restaurant. No matter what the truth is, the rest of the world thinks she is guilty and there isn't another Doreen to call for help. She knows she can rely on Mack to have her back, but he is also a suspect and prevented from working on the case so she will have to rely on the rest of the police force to have her back and investigate what she can. While it is investigated her former life is ripped apart and most of her suspicions about Matther turn out to be correct. Between her animals, the police, and every other well-meaning resident trying to help, Doreen knows she could be in bigger trouble than ever.

This was a highly personal case for Doreen as her former life was under the spotlight and more people became aware of just how her life was before she moved to Kelowna. I loved Mack's brother Nick and how he immediately got on a plane to be with and help Doreen at a time when she really needed someone with legal knowledge in her corner. There was a lot of involvement of both new and old characters in this story and it brought the whole divorce side to an end. I loved how even when bad things happen to Doreen she is still caring and considerate for others. Easy to read, feel and understand I was dying to find out who killed Matthew and why. The animals, as usual, were the heroes with parrot Thadius the star of the show.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
