Review: Rick's Road by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Rick's Road (Terkel's Team Book 5)

Rick's Road by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rick is one of the members of Terkel's team and is fiercely independent - in fact, you could call him stubborn. He is being worked on by a very powerful healer who is bringing him back from the brink of death, but that means he is in danger of losing the control and privacy that he values highly. Cara understands that he has a need to be alone but it is just not possible any longer and yet she is not yet ready to tell him. The value of the connection that they now share is something that he has to find out for himself, but he needs to hurry up as the attacks on the team are continuing and their temporary headquarters is under surveillance.

I loved this story which centred around Rick, Cara the healer who saved him, and his struggles to come to terms with the effects of that healing while she struggled to give him the time to catch up on everything. I enjoyed the fact that Cara really was a healer who baulked at the concept of killing people even though it was actually mostly done by their own side. It helped to enhance the team's understanding of the psychic world as well as make Cara think about something that she did instinctively. We also got a little more information on the plot to take down the team even though we still have no idea the source of the order to take them out. Easy to read and understand. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
