My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Jenner finds himself travelling to Ashland Kentucky (where his ex-wife and her family live) to track down another War Dog which is currently missing. He stays at a small bed and breakfast run by Kellie who is the most interesting woman he has met for a long time. His protectiveness comes to the fore when he hears about the neighbour's son and his dogs which surrounded and threatened Kellie who hasn't got the best of relationships with the locals after they judged her harshly for a mistake in her past. At least having Jenner around makes her feel safe and secure. The question is can Jenner get the missing dog to trust him enough to make contact and can Jenner find a way to stay with Kellie?
I enjoyed this story which was quite dramatic in places as Jenner searched for the missing War Dog and then found her as well as some out of control dogs. Had some exposure to the man next door to Kellie, had lots of exposure to local politics and eventually found the answer to all of his potential dreams. I loved the relationship between Jenner and Kellie as they were quickly able to find a mutual source of respect between each other and I have to say if the way to a man's heart is his stomach then there is no doubt that he would fall in love with her. Easy to read and understand.
