Brody is the last member of Terkel's team and his journey back to consciousness was not fast or easy but does have weird voices and images in his head. He just wants to get back to the team and be in the thick of the action but he is not ready yet. Clary came onboard and is Clara's twin sister and was warned about how the connection between her and Brody could develop even though she doesn't expect that to be true for them both. Healing a person was one thing, but having a connection where you get the same thoughts and emotions was completely different. Seeing Brody's desperation to get back and protect the team against the attacks shows her that much more is possible for her with her skills - and soon she gets to test those in order to protect those people she has grown to care about. Will they all survive?
This was a very dramatic instalment as they made some great progress against their attackers now that the full remaining members of the team were able to work together. I loved the way that the kills of both sides of the psychic skills of healing and protection were able to learn from each other and adapt to the other side's skillset. Brody was a stubborn SOB and it was great that he suddenly got his lightbulb moment and was able to see the error of his ways. A great ending and I now can't wait until the next book. Contains some mature content.
