Accountant Edward did a favour for someone and found himself at a loss as to what to do with the battered and bruised young man with haunted eyes and a habit of scrubbing his hands clean until they almost bled who was clinging onto Edward's childhood stuffed bear as if it was everything. It was almost Christmas and a time when hopes and dreams come true when someone might just gather pieces of a single broken heart together, one fluffy blanket, one gentle word, and one shoulder to cry on, one step at a time.
This was a really sweet story and the history was heartbreaking. I loved that they were both new to the lifestyle and I loved the way that Edward's brother-in-law finally made Edward see what was obvious to everyone else. (I just wanted to give him a high five!). This was easy to feel the emotions involved as well as their thoughts. This is an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.
