Novella length story. Cougar shifter Izzy Howell goes to spend the holidays at her aunt's inn in Bearden, Montana in order to repair her broken heart. However, when a hot dragon shifter walks into her suite she is ready to leave and get home, but her cougar is much more interested in being around him. Zane Darkwood is a dragon shifter and bounty hunter and his entire focus is on working hard and so when his latest bounty eludes him he is ordered to take time off and that is really the furthest thing from his mind. When curvacious Izzy captures a picture containing his target Zane's plans are upended and he has to stay in town to hunt him by staying in town, enjoying the festivities and using Izzy to be his cover but the more time he spends with her the more he questions his priorities. Izzy's bruised heart is shattered when she finds out Zane's use of her as the cover she pulls back even though her cougar insists that he is her fated mate. However, while Zane and Izzy are distracted together a deadly criminal is hunting them both. Chase the bounty or chase his mate... Zane will need a Christmas miracle to claim them both.
This was a sweet short story with a sassy woman and stubborn man. Plenty of drama and action. Easy to read and understand. Has some sexual content at the end.
