Review: Her Alien Rogue by Presley Hall 4 of 5 stars

Her Alien Rogue (Voxeran Fated Mates #5)

Her Alien Rogue by Presley Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Human Raina has had a difficult upbringing and life and so she is strong, feisty and determined to stand on her own two feet. When Voxeran Kaide declares in front of the whole village that she is his mate, everyone seems to think that is that and it is decided. Certainly not Raina! Yes, he is gorgeous and has a great smile, but that is certainly not enough for her to make a lifelong commitment. When she explains she wants to fall in love in the old fashioned way, he is not phased and just vows that he will do what it takes for her to do that. So she joins him and a couple of other Voxerans on a trading mission to Pascia where he treats her as an equal. Can they achieve the aims of the trading mission and can Kaide win Raina's heart?

I enjoyed this story which definitely had a lot of drama, danger and challenges. Throughout it all, Kaide was very respectful of Raina and treated her as an equal. It was great to see them working together as a team especially as there were a lot of twists and turns. Easy to read and very enjoyable. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Ignite by Tana Stone 3 of 5 stars

Ignite (Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors #1)

Ignite by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Since the role of Drexian warriors and the fact that aliens are real was explained to the humans on Earth, they no longer need to abduct tribute brides as there are many willing volunteers. A new space station affectionately called the Love Boat is being built in order for them to have their fantasy weddings and honeymoons. Human Zoey is the designer but it will never get finished if acting captain Kalix doesn't stop being grumpy and disagreeing. When things start to go wrong at the station they are forced to work together to save the station. But tempers start to fly and sparks ignite. Can they save the space station and themselves from a deadly Kronock plot?

I really enjoyed this story where Zoey and Kalix were like oil and water to each other and there were numerous examples of times they got in each other's way, but as the old saying says "opposites attract" and there was definitely an off the scale attraction between the two. I enjoyed the way that everything culminated in the safety of Kalix and Zoey realising that she was ready to be with the right person. Easy to read and understand. Contains a lot of explicit sexual content.

Review: Her Alien Warrior by Presley Hall 3 of 5 stars

Her Alien Warrior (Voxeran Fated Mates, #4)

Her Alien Warrior by Presley Hall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Gemma in a few months has been kidnapped, rescued, and then kidnapped again. She was getting used to life on the planet when raiders attacked the village and stole her away plus in trying to save her Voxeran warrior Kzuri is also taken at the same time. Kzuri rarely speaks, but he is the bravest man she has ever met as he is determined to defend and protect her wherever they are taken and end up. As for Gemma, whenever she looks at him when he is looking at her, her heart races to make her wonder if it is the mate bond. As they have lots of adventures together and try to find a way to get free and return home, will they get the chance to discover if her suspicion that they are mates?

I enjoyed this story which had a lot of drama and danger for the two characters. They went through so many trials together and alone but throughout it all, they remained strong individually and together. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Call of her Mate by Milly Taiden 5 of 5 stars

Call of her Mate (Sassy Ever After)Call of her Mate by Milly Taiden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wolf shifter Morgan had originally run from pack life and the drama/violence associated with it. But she has finally returned and is plagued by dreams of a hot wolf shifter which she has tried really hard to ignore. When she finally sees her dream shifter in the flesh her mind goes straight into the gutter and so she decides to break her rule and scratch that itch to stop the dreams. Quinn is a lone wolf shifter with a dark secret and danger following him wherever he goes. When he meets Morgan his life changes as she is the mate he has always wanted to find although it does add a complication to his already complicated life. Although Quinn has no intention of letting her go it will put her in peril. They will both have to stand together against the world and end the challenges that are trying to break them

This was a dramatic story that will sweep you away and become invested in their lives and future together. I loved how sassy Morgan was and the darkness that followed Quinn was a great surprise. An enjoyable story that will definitely have you addicted. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Her Alien Beast by Presley Hall 3 of 5 stars

Her Alien Beast (Voxeran Fated Mates, #3)

Her Alien Beast by Presley Hall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Voxeran Axen fights like a beast which frightens Elizabeth a little. She was a doctor on Earth and so she is used to being logical and calm but is currently going through the adjustment to life on Nuthora. Then she is completely thrown off her normal mode when she discovers that she is pregnant. So when the mate bond flares between Elizabeth and Axen it is more than her brain can handle at some time. There is no leaving the prison planet and so she has to go with fate - Axen is determined to prove to her that he will be a good mate but will the brutal warrior accept her and her unborn child?

I enjoyed this story which contrasted the brutality of life on the prison planet and the gentleness of a healer who found herself having to live with it daily. I did find Elizabeth's concern about talking to people strange - I know she was very independent but I would have thought she would have wanted to find out more as that would have appealed to her intellect. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Axel by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars

Axel (Alpha Geek, #8)

Axel by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shifter Emily Jackson takes a job with the Shifter Protection Agency and her first job is to protect human Axel Snell - a brilliant science professor who has been receiving threats. As soon as she meets him her lioness insists that he is her mate - something she is going to have to ignore for now if she is going to protect him. Axel is finding it hard to understand why he is being targeted for wanting to create a cure for diseases, plus he now has the most beautiful woman assigned to protect him. Then everything changes and Emily is no longer off-limits and is his. With danger at every turn and their romance just starting have they bitten off more than they can chew?

I really enjoyed this book which had a nice balance of romance, danger and drama as they navigated the threat against him. I enjoyed the moment when he realised that he was probably surrounded by shifters but had no idea who was in that grouping of people. Emily was suitably sassy and determined to protect her man with everything that she had. Axel was a fast learner and I'm sure that was partly because of his brilliant scientific mind. It was easy to read and get addicted to the characters and the story. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: The Lady and the Dragon’s Holiday by Mandy Rosko 2 of 5 stars

The Lady and the Dragon’s Holiday (The Princess' Dragon Lord, 1.5)

The Lady and the Dragon’s Holiday by Mandy Rosko
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This is a very short novella where one-time lost fairy princess Diana Winters will share her love of the holiday season with her dragon shifter husband Azoth. For now, they are spending time in a cabin in the woods so she doesn't have to teach him all about the modern world. They might have a small hiccup or so in their plans for a happy future.

This was a fairly pleasant story but definitely short. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

So she sets up a meal with all of the Calendri brothers at home but Arturo is running late and is stuck at work. Review: Her Alien Savior by Presley Hall 4 of 5 stars

Her Alien Savior (Voxeran Fated Mates, #2)

Her Alien Savior by Presley Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sadie and Jaro don't like each other much let alone but he keeps saving her life which considering she feels that she is not supposed to be on the planet feels wrong. Why should she trust the aliens when she knows how bad humans can be? However, as they all make a dangerous trek to the Voxeran's encampment, a wrong move separates Sadie from the other and it is Jaro who comes after her. So they are stranded together and if they can't learn to trust each other the chances of their death is high. But if they do learn to trust each other they may be more than they bargained for.

I really enjoyed this story which was very dramatic with all of the dangers that they faced together and how they learnt that working together was key to their survival as often one was not strong enough. Jaro was very kind and understanding which showed Sadie that the aliens really could be trusted. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Boxing Day by Andrea Maxand 3 of 5 stars

Boxing Day

Boxing Day by Andrea Maxand
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In this novella, musician Samantha Flynn has moved to a small town after being betrayed by her longtime bandmate/boyfriend and so it woking as a waitress building a "normal" life away from the pressures of the music profession. During the holiday season, she is tempted by a mysterious married man into having an affair with him.

It was a nice story and a good taster for this author's writing style. I enjoyed the descriptions of the characters, the surroundings and their thoughts. I found it easy to understand and enjoyed it enough that I would be tempted to read a longer version of this where we could find out what happens next and how life for all of the characters turned out.

Review: One Heart Forever by Terri A. Wilson 2 of 5 stars

One Heart Forever (Crimson Moon Hideaway; Women of the Fold, #3)

One Heart Forever by Terri A. Wilson
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Love can sometimes be so strong that even death cannot stop it. Nurse Ruth has a plan to get away from the world and put her life back together after a failed suicide attempt. However, after a freak car accident leads her to the Crimson Moon Hideaway she learns that monsters from the TV and fiction are real and do exist and she is one of them. Hazel spent an eternity trapped in a tree when her lover witch Judith was killed and unable to rescue her but she was convinced that she would return one day. But when she does return as a stranger, she will have to peel away all the pain to find the heart of the one she loved. They will stand together to face the remainder of the evil that originally hurt them but this time they have the Crimson Moon family standing with them and a love that will last until the end of time.

I tried really hard to like this book as I usually love this series but I found the split between the past with Judith and Hazel and the present with Ruth and Hazel and the way they were merged a little hard going. I loved the role played by the other shifters and the way that the staff did their best to help and support her. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Possessed by Presley Hall 3 of 5 stars

Possessed (Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors, #11)Possessed by Presley Hall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Brielle views herself as far too practical to fall in love with an alien warrior like her younger sister Nadia did with Zatir. Now she has the time and focus to try and work out who she is. So when a natural disaster strikes on Kalix she volunteers to go and help with the rescue mission to try and pay back the debt she owns the warriors who rescued them. Vrale is part of the rescue team and even though he is older than many of the other warriors there is something about his quiet and stoic demeanour although he seems hunted from the past and therefore not looking for a mate any more than she is. Will they rescue the survivors and maybe each other too?

I really enjoyed this story which was both lovely, dramatic and sad. I loved the interaction between Brielle and Vrale which was friendly and then a bit more protective and passionate. I loved the way that everyone helped with the natural disaster and that saving lives plus rebuilding were the focus. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content. Sad because it was the last book in the series.

Review: Experiment kL4UTh: A SciFi Alien Romance by Miranda Martin 3 of 5 stars

Experiment kL4UTh: A SciFi Alien Romance (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss Book 23)

Experiment kL4UTh: A SciFi Alien Romance by Miranda Martin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Emma was one of the humans that crash-landed on Tajss and has since become an instant mother to her nephew Al after her sister and mate were tragically killed. She used to be a resident in the mining colony and so is also even more removed from the Zmaj as she was part of the group who were cast out of the city. But since the invaders struck the separate groups are all trapped in the cramped space of the underground bunker. So all of her hopes and dreams for the future are totally on hold as she struggles to care for Al. Her one escape is the Zmaj "Frankenstein" Klauth who is still in the medical tube. He is barely conscious but does seem to react whenever she is near to him. Then everything goes wrong when both Emma and Al are threatened and Klauth breaks free in order to save them both. Then as things go wrong in the bunker and Klauth is evading capture they both need to save each other - can Emma and Klauth find a way to be together and bring up Al together?

I enjoyed this story which was suitably dramatic with the life in the bunker together with the relationship developing between Klauth and Emma within and without the medical tube. There were a suitable number of tender moments as well as dramatic moments to make this a well-rounded book. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Pursued by Presley Hall 4 of 5 stars

Pursued (Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors #10)

Pursued by Presley Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Zatir is worldly, charming and a little roguish. Nadia is one of the human women abducted from Earth, is quiet and fiercely protected by her older sister Brielle. When Zatir returns home the mate bond sparks between them and her world is turned upside down. Her sister wants her to deny the bond especially given mistakes that Nadia has made in the past. Warrior Zatir has many enemies throughout the galaxy and when a bounty hunter tracks them down to Kalix they are thrust into a chase across the stars visiting new planets and evading new threats. During those adventures, she realises that the gorgeous warrior sees her in a way that no now has ever seen or understood before. She realises that with him she can be the person she always wanted to be - as long as they survive!

I really enjoyed this story where everything started off very tentative and ended in a true partnership that faced dangers head-on and proved 100% that they were completely compatible and definitely meant for each other. I loved that it showed the sensitive side of a Kalaxian warrior and that they really would do anything in order to make their mates happy. It was also lovely to read and "see" Nadia flourish and gain so much self-confidence thanks to Zatir. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Bounty by Tana Stone 3 of 5 stars

Bounty (Barbarians of the Sand Planet #1)

Bounty by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Captain Danica Miller is in charge of an all-female bounty hunter crew and thought she could handle and was prepared for anything. Then they find themselves marooned on a sand planet. While trying to find a source of water she is isolated and injured in the desert when a barely dressed and huge, gold-skinned alien finds her. The last thing K'alvek is anyone or anything distracting him from his mission but he feels drawn to her and finds himself unable to not save and heal her. So he vows to help her and her crew to leave the planet, but if he were to listen to himself, he actually wants to drag her to his tent and never let her go.

I enjoyed this story which introduced Danika and K'alvek. I did find her determination to escape intriguing and found her more naive than I would have expected a successful bounty hunter to be. I loved the fact that the individual crew members had distinct skills and personalities. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Bullard's Best by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Bullard's Best (Bullard's Battle Book 9)

Bullard's Best by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Now that the killer who targetted Bullard and his entire team is identified and caught, the crew is heading back to the island where he recovered in order that Bullard and Leia can get married there. Dave has gone ahead with Katie the caterer in order to sort out the preparations and now that Bullard is safe Dave has a new lease on life and a new perspective on his future - one that involves Katie at a level he has only been able to dream about. Katie is thrilled - she has wanted much more with Dave for years now. However, there is still one loose thread from the island in the form of the person who originally let the outside know about Leila's location and that Bullard was alive. And so their week in paradise might have a little outstanding business to conclude first!

I really enjoyed this finale to the series and a fitting ending for all of the characters where they finally had their HEA as was rightly deserved after all of the trauma of the past months. I enjoyed the way that Dave used his skills to protect Katie as well as try to find the person behind the betrayal of Leia and Bullard. I also loved the way that Dave and Katie were able to take their friendship to the next level in a mature and confident way as only people who knew each other as well as what they wanted to a high level could. It was a great ending and I hope we will see snippets of their lives in later books by the same author. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Claimed by the Alien Bounty Hunter by Elin Wyn 3 of 5 stars

Claimed by the Alien Bounty Hunter (In The Stars Romance)

Claimed by the Alien Bounty Hunter by Elin Wyn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Khenja is a bounty hunter and he is on the hunt for one when he comes across a human woman called Deanna. He gave up the chance to find his one true mate (amre) when he left his homeworld and so he is annoyed to come across her as he doesn't want anyone to get in his way. But he finds himself with a need to protect her even though she is not great at following orders. When his enemy puts her into danger he realises that he needs to make her his - the question is will she accept him in time for him to keep her safe?

This was a sweet novella-length story that due to the length moved on quite fast in places - hence there wasn't a great deal of character development and I felt that she trusted him much quicker than a "normal" person would. That said it was a nice story that showed that love is universal and that it is possible between an alien and a human. Easy to read and understand. Contains sexual content.

Review: Killer Lies by Eva Chance by Harlow King 5 of 5 stars

Killer Lies (The Chaos Crew #2)

Killer Lies by Eva Chance by
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dess's life was a whole pack of lies and she has to make a decision - continue as a lone wolf without backup or become part of the Chaos Crew. As it becomes clear to her that the hitmen who took her in are not real villains she decides to stay with them. So they all start to help her track down answers from the organisation she was with and anything they can find on who her real family are. The longer she is with them the more she starts to discover just how delicious they all are in their own way. But they need to realise that working with her is a dangerous game as she has unknown enemies who are ramping up with attacks and they are all in the line of fire - will their loyalty to her guarantee her own survival or send them to an early grave?

I loved this story which definitely ramped up the knowledge about Dess, the danger to them all, and the lengths that her former organisation would go to in order to get her back. It was great to get to know a bit more about each of the men via their interactions with her too. I loved their solution to violence against them and the balls it took to go for that. Easy to read and understand, I was definitely addicted wanting to know what was going to happen next. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Fur Fox's Sake by Milly Taiden 3 of 5 stars

Fur Fox's Sake (Shifters Undercover, #2)

Fur Fox's Sake by Milly Taiden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Fox shifter Marika Paters works as a geneticist in the only forensic laboratory for animals. She might find great scientific facts but without a mate, she has always felt incomplete. Fellowship Agent and panther shifter Devin Sonder believes after a family tragedy that he will never find love even though the panther inside him insists that there is a mate out there for him. When he goes to Marika'a lab after the death of a senator and a mysterious dead wolf whilst their personalities clash he feels a powerful magnetism to her. With even more dead wolves found, Marika makes a major discovery about their origin and so they both work together to try and find out who is creating shifters. Can the fierce panther and the fiery fox put their carnal desire to the side to hunt down the mastermind before even more shifters die?

This was an enjoyable second instalment in the shifters undercover series. I liked that they were mates even though it took a little while for Devin to fully comprehend that and also that Marika was so dominant and confident in both herself and her abilities. It was nice as the story progressed to see them working and thinking of them both as more of a unit and definitely together. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Tamed by Presley Hall 3 of 5 stars

Tamed (Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors #9)

Tamed by Presley Hall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After the rescue of humans and one Kalixian from the slave market, human Sophie feels an inexplicable draw to the damaged Kalixian who is currently for everyone's protection in a cage. Over time, as much as they try to help him he becomes even more feral and bizarrely it is only when Sophie is there that he stops pacing and just stares at her. He doesn't seem to understand anyone but she is convinced he is in there and can somehow see the real her. Then disaster strikes one day and she wakes to find herself on the run with him. Suddenly everything she thought she knew about him is put to the test and she has to decide if she can really rely on him to keep her safe?

I really enjoyed this story which showed that brutality to captured slaves was a universal thing but deep down the original person was in there if only someone could see it and find a way to help. I really enjoyed the way that Sophie tried to communicate with him and that the Kalaxians were more than willing to go to great lengths to help a fellow warrior. Caul was a delight as he discovered that it was possible for him to have a normal life he just needed the love of a good woman, the determination of his people to get the right medical treatment for him and some time. Review: Polar Opposites by C.D. Gorri 3 of 5 stars

Polar Opposites (Barvale Clan Tales, #1)

Polar Opposites by C.D. Gorri
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Polar bear shifter Bowie Atiqtalaaq is new to Barvale and had coped with slurs and prejudice about how he was conceived his entire life. As a self-defence mechanism, he was brash and a bit wild to keep everyone away from him. He never cared about what anyone might think about him until he met ice queen and fox shifter Roxanne Winters who has come to Barvale to negotiate rights to cross Barvale lands for her Skulk during the winter solstice on behalf of her father. Will Roxanne be the good girl her Daddy always told her to be or will she let her hair down and go wild with the naughty with Bowie who is her guide for the week?

I enjoyed this story as to how Bowie and Roxanne met, their adventures and how they came together and admitted that they were mates all around the time of the winter solstice and run-up to Christmas. I loved their final acceptance and the way that Roxanne was when her father turned up which was just great. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Experiment b4hR by Miranda Martin 3 of 5 stars

Experiment b4hR (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss #21)

Experiment b4hR by Miranda Martin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

He was a Zmaj warrior and then the scientists did experiments on him and he is now a monster. Emerging from one of the pods in the warehouse he sees Sophia and immediately knows that she is his treasure and that they belong together - and so he does something without thinking - he kidnaps her. For Sophia (and all the other humans) life is hard enough, but to be kidnapped by Bahr is almost too much to bear. However, behind all the strange and damaged exterior she can see a man who is in pain that she wants to know better. Can she buy them both enough time before the other survivors come after him and it all ends badly?

I enjoyed this story which had the tortured Behr who was very close to his dragon and was finding life difficult even when he was in hiding and then Sophia who was one of the humans who were swept into Gershom's anti-alien and humans first movement (even though she didn't really understand it completely). Now she is less scared of them although being kidnapped by one has not helped. I liked the way that she was determined to help him as well as see the person behind the disability (for that is a good way of viewing his modifications). Easy to read and understand. Contains a little sexual content.

Blood Instincts

Blood Instincts by Marie Lavender
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Myah Sullivan suddenly finds her whole life and future changed when she discovers that she is not entirely human and the world also contains what are described as Others who are dangerous supernatural creatures. Vampire Oliver King tries to show her everything and how to survive as she starts to learn about her own past. The question is can Myah handle this new reality and take on the role she was born to fulfil?

This is a charming story that definitely towards the end tugs at the heartstrings as you are by then fully invested in the characters and what is happening. I found some of Myah's doubts more than a little irritating and at one point I could feel myself shouting at her in my head so I was glad when towards the end she started to really understand everything and her own heart. I loved the way the various races were explained although I hope in later books of the series they are expanded and given more detail as I'm sure there was a lot more to each of them. An enjoyable read if you can get past irritation at Myah.

Review: Criminal Spirits by Eva Chase 5 of 5 stars

Criminal Spirits (Gang of Ghouls, #2)

Criminal Spirits by Eva Chase
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lily had fallen for the ghosts of murdered gangsters who had once been her imaginary friends which she admits is unusual. But they are now back devoted to her and very much real. However, their violence is not enough to bring down the powerful man who hurt her little sister Marisol. So she decides to take matters into her own hands even though she does not yet have a better grip on her own marsh magic. The guys are also stirring up trouble in their search for their original murderers as well as the pasts of the hosts they have taken over - something that has arrived with guns blazing. Lily still has a gap in her memories and he knows that her past holds secrets that might shatter every hope she has of a happily ever after

This was definitely a dramatic story that had me hooked as Lily tried to find out what she could about the man who featured so much in her memories around her sister. I loved the relationship she had with the gangsters and the way they were so protective and caring of her. The powerful man is definitely evil and I have no idea how they are going to defeat him. It was easy to get swept away in the story and to become fully invested in Lily and her men. Easy to read, feel and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

I’m desperate to pop my cherry. My fated mates are just as desperate to claim me. But my wonky magic makes it impossible to do "it" even after being together for a whole year!

With nothing left to lose, I turn to the one person who could help: my neighbour, Juniper, the town’s dildo witch. But when we turn to dark magic, things go terribly… limp. And not just for my fated mates and Juniper’s men—but for the entire town.

If we don’t reverse the spell by midnight, the town’s *ahem* bananas will stay deflated forever. I’ll be stuck with my v-card, and no one in the town will ride a man’s *ahem* broomstick ever again.

Tempted (Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors #8)

Tempted by Presley Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brooke was kidnapped from Earth by aliens, was almost rescued by another group of aliens and then at the last minute snatched back by her original captors. However, she is still determined to fight back and escape again and find a way off that planet. But when she is put up for auction by her captors she sees one of the aliens who had tried to free her in the crowd. Her instinct is not to trust him, but when she is free and with Zhori, everything he does is to look after and protect her and she starts to change into trusting him and thinking of a future with him.

I enjoyed this story and the magnetism between Brooke and Zhori (even if they did not yet realise why it was there to start with). It was great to see that Zhori was very careful to behave in an honourable way between Brooke and to not push her into any decisions or behaviours unless she was certain that she wanted it to be that way. I loved the way that the story ended with yet another Kalixian warrior with a human mate. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Harley by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Harley (The K9 Files Book 14)Harley by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Harvey has returned to the town where he was raised in order to find one of the missing war dogs - war dog Bowser. However, this will raise all sorts of bad memories for Harley as he was there as an unhappy foster years ago and had to leave there (and the girl he loved who was too young for him ) in order to join the navy. Having snagged Bowser back from a so-called handler but Harley knows he has to stop them. After all the years, Jasmine waits for Harvey to return but he won't be happy with what she has gone through. When he does turn up, she knows that only total honesty will be good enough even if it is going to be rough and bring back parts of her life that she would prefer to forget. However, it also appears that Harvey's arrival has prompted someone to do whatever they have to hide the truth just as Harvey will do everything he can in order to get justice for her.

I really enjoyed this story which added information to Harley's life before the Navy as well as events after he left the area. It seems that it was a great time for him to return and he handled everything like the mature and sensible guy he now is. I enjoyed the dilemmas that Jasmine was struggling with - some of which are common to most people's lives. It was easy to read and understand. Contains a little sexual content at the end of the story.

Review: Dragon's Destiny by Miranda Martin 3 of 5 stars

Dragon's Destiny (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss #20)

Dragon's Destiny by Miranda Martin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Khabri is the leader of the Order and since the human females coming was revealed to him he knows that the female who is his mate and therefore his destiny is somewhere on Tajss. When he finds her his dragon roars and there is no mistaking the connection. However, Anna has other ideas and does not believe in destiny. The Invaders are threatening all of Tajss and he knows he needs to survive the oncoming war if he has any chance of winning Anna's heart. Anna was in the group who left the dome with Geshom believing his lies. Their village was overrun by four armed invaders and so those who are left have been forced to flee towards to domed city. They are struggling when Khabri appears with his men telling Anna that she is his fated mate and that they will make beautiful babies. Anna rejects that idea even though he is kind and protective - can she move past her beliefs and trust him with her heart?

Gosh - so much happened in this story - it was, therefore, a bit disjointed in places as it covered a huge amount of story - it was the relationship between Khabri and Anna, but also there were a few aspects of the relationship between Calista and Ladon, a few more details of the Order, and a little of the way that Rosalind lead the population of the domed city. It certainly ended at a point that makes me wonder what they are going to do next. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Damaged by Presley Hall 4 of 5 stars

Damaged (Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors, #7)

Damaged by Presley Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

King Khrelan gets word of a group of human women who are captive and will be sold on a trading planet and so decides that a team should be sent to rescue them. Hotshot pilot Druxik is sent to lead them and Cora decides it is her purpose to go with them and calm the women down as they will be afraid of any and all aliens. The issue for Cora is that as she spends more time on the ship travelling to intercept the women it becomes harder to deny her attraction to Druxik and she knows it cannot be a mate bond as she knows it will only end up in a broken heart. Then disaster strikes and everything changes in the blink of an eye - mate bond or not Druxik needs her and she will do everything she can to help him.

I loved this story where two imperfect people found that they still belonged together and that they could still have a fulfilling and happy life together. These two people were more deserving of a HEA than anyone else. As is always the case with these guys, nothing went smoothly but through it all, they rose above their problems and did everything that they could to get a good result. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Dragon's Isolation by Miranda Martin 4 of 5 stars

Dragon's Isolation (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss, #19)

Dragon's Isolation by Miranda Martin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Amara is mated to Zmaj warrior Shedan and the seven-foot-tall dragon warriors do not get ill therefore the plan was to have children and happy life growing old in each other's arms. But then a sickness arrives and it starts to steal their memories as well as go back to their primal nature so that they are lost completely. Shiden starts to show the first signs of the illness and as the only female pilot on their ship, Amara is used to fighting every day - she just has a whole new fight on her hands. She is determined not to lose the love of her life and so it is time for her to repay him for saving her.

This was a heartbreaking story of one woman who was determined not to take defeat lying down and was going to fight with absolutely everything she has in order to find a cure and fix the warrior who she loves and cannot live without. I can only feel admiration for her and the way she went against everything and everyone she had to in order to find ways to help and fix every problem that she came across. Easy to read and completely addictive. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: No Time to Scrooge by Milly Taiden 5 of 5 stars

No Time to Scrooge (Paranormal Dating Agency, #36)

No Time to Scrooge by Milly Taiden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Charlie Zann is a struggling single mother who is thrilled when Gerri Wilder approaches her with a new job opportunity - then she meets her new boss and realises two things - he is way too hot and appears to be way too into her. Having made many relationship mistakes in the past she is determined to just focus on her daughter and not pay attention to the gorgeous, kind generous and sexy Preston is. Preston Cole is a strong and demanding dragon shifter who has lived a long life without ever meeting his mate, so when he lays eyes on Charlie he knew she was his. Used to handling hostile corporate takeovers he now realises that he needs to handle both her and her daughter with care - especially as they have a hidden danger associated with them. He tries to romance her with hot cocoa and ice skating but there is trouble brewing for her ex. Preston will not let anything bad happen to his mate and her daughter - but there is a thin line between protective and controlling and he needs to be careful or he'll lose the only family he has ever wanted.

I really enjoyed this festive story where the PDA's Gerri Wilder sprinkles some of her magic on Charlie and Preston. I loved the way he did his best to toe the line between overprotective and controlling and the moment he talks to daughter Heaven about something is really quite beautiful. A lovely festive story with drama and danger but more importantly love and understanding. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Consumed by Presley Hall 4 of 5 stars

Consumed (Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors, #6)Consumed by Presley Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lucy has wanted a hot night with one of the Kalixian warriors ever since they rescued the human women from their Orkun captors and has made absolutely no secret how much she likes one particular alien. She has no interest in the fated mate side of things but wouldn't say no to a roll in the sheets with one of them in particular - Tycran. He is so serious and stoic, even though he is also gorgeous, although he does appear to be immune to her flirtations aimed at him. She desperately wants to be the one to light that spark. Yes, it is playing with fire, but then again maybe she wants to get burned?

I really enjoyed this story with all the adventures they had together as well as how they discovered that they could trust each other as well as be equal and take just as important a role in anything that they did. It was also nice to see that he applied his same laser-like focus on their relationship as he did any other mission he had in life. Easy to read and understand. An enjoyable read. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Dragon's Fated Mate by Miranda Martin 3 of 5 stars

Dragon's Fated Mate (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss, #18)

Dragon's Fated Mate by Miranda Martin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Annabel's husband was killed and so she has given herself a purpose of making sure that the girls with her continue to survive. Then they meet Zmaj warrior Calaun and she is determined not to fall for him - after all, she had her one love and so there won't be another one for her. Calaun had a mate and as dragons mate for life, he knows that there will never be another one for him. And so he is very confused when his dragon insists on claiming the headstrong and very willful human female. He knows it is not possible to mate again but he also cannot help what he feels. Could they beat convention and have a second chance?

This was a strange story but if you could get past Annabel and her very abrasive manner it was quite sweet for there to be a second chance. I thought Calaun was very honourable and very tolerant considering that Annabel really was quite rude towards him. A sweet ending. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Simon Says . . . Ride by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Simon Says . . . Ride (Kate Morgan Thrillers #3)Simon Says . . . Ride by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Detective Kate Morgan is working on another case that focuses on a cyclist who was killed at a major road intersection near the University of British Columbia. Initially, it was a hit and run but as more details became clear it was much more complicated than that. As for psychic Simon, he is blinded by enhanced senses and noises which is starting to impact his normal business day. As he cannot control when and where it all happens to him he is just feeling angry and frustrated. He tells Kate about it but she is unable to help which is fair considering that he cannot help himself. Kate struggles to work her way through a gang of arrogant and bullying University students who are wealthy and able to get away with everything. Add to that scenario a defensive Dea, unobservant witnesses and reluctant parents she starts to see a pattern that points her to more so-called accidents and the victims. Then Simon understands why his sense is on overload and the investigation gets flipped around this new information. Can Kate solve the case and can Simon help her to do that by catching the right person or people?

I really enjoyed this third book in the series. Kate was her usual self in her determination to protect the weak and punish the guilty. She also has shown no fear when it comes to the type and level of folks she is prepared to call out in order to get to the bottom of a case where she has seen that wrong has occurred. Poor Simon had a difficult time in this story as the effect on him was far more physical. Easy to read and understand, I was definitely invested in the case and finding out who was responsible so that they could be stopped as well as punished. It was easy to read and understand the story as well as the thoughts and emotions of the characters. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Broken by Presley Hall 3 of 5 stars

Broken (Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors, #5)

Broken by Presley Hall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Jade is Emma's best friend and she is determined to find her best friend. Then she is kidnapped by aliens who seem to think she is going to be a tribute bride but there is no way she is going to let that happen. In her escape plan, the ship is on crashes on the Kalix planet. Alone in a dangerous wilderness, her only hope is a darkly handsome alien with bronze skin, horns and penetrating eyes. He appears to want to help her at a minimum, but she is not sure she should trust him especially when he is harbouring a dark secret.

I enjoyed this story and the way that Jade gave as good as she got which was really important and is exactly what made them so compatible. I was thrilled when they found a way to reunite the brothers and the best friends in a dramatic intervention which was also helping in their war with the alien race that was actually doing all of the kidnappings. A fun read that will get you invested in the story. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Dragon's Redemption by Miranda Martin 3 of 5 stars

Dragon's Redemption (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss, #17)

Dragon's Redemption by Miranda Martin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Zmaj warrior Jormund is half-wild and lost to his inner beast. Then he sees human Delilah and just knows that no other male can care for her as well as he can, and so determines to just kidnap her and hope that in time she can see that they are fated to be together. Delilah is resigned to a life alone as there are no more single Zmaj warriors left. She should be content as she has her friends, their children and the Tribe to care for.

I enjoyed this story with a different twist as Jormund was unresponsive to start with but Delilah was able eventually to get through to him and get him talking. I also loved the role that the children had in getting Hormund accepted by the wider community of Zmaj. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Bound by Presley Hall 4 of 5 stars

Bound (Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors, #4)

Bound by Presley Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Emma has watched two of her friends find happiness with an alien and has been secretly hoping for something similar for herself, but when Prince Khrelan singles her out and invites her to stay at the palace so he can learn more about the human race she is terrified. He is commanding, powerful and very handsome plus he is very sceptical of the mate bond between a human and a Kalaxian. It seems that his job is to prove that the bond isn't real and her job is to prove to him that it is, although when the chemistry between them flares it might prove to be far more than they can resist. Are they ready for what it could mean?

I enjoyed this story where they tried really hard to resist the express train that is the mate bond between a Kalaxian and his mate. I loved the way he tried to understand the culture of humans and the planet Earth as well as the fact that Emma was also able to understand more of the culture of Kalaxians. The final conclusion and the way that Emma really came into her own and became fitting of the title of queen. Easy to read and understand and enjoyable to read. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Dragon's Protection by Miranda Martin 4 of 5 stars

Dragon's Protection (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss, #16)

Dragon's Protection by Miranda Martin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Victoria was very frightened when then humans first crash-landed on Tajss and so followed the anti-Zmaj leader into the desert in order to escape the large dragon-like warriors. Then she was captured and kidnapped by the Zzlo pirates and forced to be their slave who cooks and cleans for them. Suddenly she misses the comfort of Tajss. When the pirates return to Tajss she starts to contemplate escape before she is kidnapped again - this time by a Zmaj warrior. Over time she starts to realise that he is actually a confident and kind person who just wants to look after and protect her - if only she could stop worrying about losing her heart to him. Lothor is confident that she is the person to get rid of the loneliness that he has lived in for so long. They don't share a language, but he knows she is his to love and protect - if only she will let him. In the meantime, he will do everything he can to care for and protect his woman who is his treasure.

I enjoyed this story with the links into different aspects of the Zmaj population of Tajss as well as back to the humans. It was nice to finally learn why she was as frightened of them as she is and that she eventually managed to get over the fear and learn to trust. Lothor really was a formidable warrior who would fight and do anything for his treasure. I admired his patience in calming her as well as his tenacity when doing any and everything in order to protect her. I really enjoyed their relationship and know it is a very strong one. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.
