Review: Simon Says . . . Ride by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Simon Says . . . Ride (Kate Morgan Thrillers #3)Simon Says . . . Ride by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Detective Kate Morgan is working on another case that focuses on a cyclist who was killed at a major road intersection near the University of British Columbia. Initially, it was a hit and run but as more details became clear it was much more complicated than that. As for psychic Simon, he is blinded by enhanced senses and noises which is starting to impact his normal business day. As he cannot control when and where it all happens to him he is just feeling angry and frustrated. He tells Kate about it but she is unable to help which is fair considering that he cannot help himself. Kate struggles to work her way through a gang of arrogant and bullying University students who are wealthy and able to get away with everything. Add to that scenario a defensive Dea, unobservant witnesses and reluctant parents she starts to see a pattern that points her to more so-called accidents and the victims. Then Simon understands why his sense is on overload and the investigation gets flipped around this new information. Can Kate solve the case and can Simon help her to do that by catching the right person or people?

I really enjoyed this third book in the series. Kate was her usual self in her determination to protect the weak and punish the guilty. She also has shown no fear when it comes to the type and level of folks she is prepared to call out in order to get to the bottom of a case where she has seen that wrong has occurred. Poor Simon had a difficult time in this story as the effect on him was far more physical. Easy to read and understand, I was definitely invested in the case and finding out who was responsible so that they could be stopped as well as punished. It was easy to read and understand the story as well as the thoughts and emotions of the characters. Contains some sexual content.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
