Khenja is a bounty hunter and he is on the hunt for one when he comes across a human woman called Deanna. He gave up the chance to find his one true mate (amre) when he left his homeworld and so he is annoyed to come across her as he doesn't want anyone to get in his way. But he finds himself with a need to protect her even though she is not great at following orders. When his enemy puts her into danger he realises that he needs to make her his - the question is will she accept him in time for him to keep her safe?
This was a sweet novella-length story that due to the length moved on quite fast in places - hence there wasn't a great deal of character development and I felt that she trusted him much quicker than a "normal" person would. That said it was a nice story that showed that love is universal and that it is possible between an alien and a human. Easy to read and understand. Contains sexual content.
