Liam is Barney when he is a pup and has had his fill of handlers who are not nice so when the owner of The Den BDSM club announces several handler and pet taster sessions before the Windsor Pride Festival he decides to give it a chance. Troy has been watching Liam at a distance, but even though he is a handler, was too shy to approach him. When they are paired together for the event Liam gets to know playful Barney who can melt Troy's heart with just one look. With Liam’s heart locked behind his puppy playsuit, what can Troy do to prove they’re perfect for each other?
This was an adorable story about two men who had their own historic problems but needed to take a chance together to solve them. Liam/Barney was just a bundle of energy and love and Troy was the right mixture of soft with a little discipline to handle him correctly. I loved that this story connected so well back to the author's Club Royal series and it was great to read something about them being involved. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and was BSDM-like DDLB with a pet-play relationship.
