Review: Sithe by Starla Night 4 of 5 stars

Sithe (Blades Of Arris #1)

Sithe by Starla Night
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Human Catrine is considered a lesser and since the time that the Earth was conquered there was an accident leaving something behind that caused an infection which meant some had some form of nymphomania and so they are sent off planet to find a cure. When their ship is taken over by pirates a Blade is sent in to recover their property. Blades wear grey and have metal sythes fused into their wrist bones, but when Sithe meets Catrine he can't stop his body from reacting to hers.

This book had a weird start with the infection and nymphomania but then turned into a really sweet love story between a strong woman, a strong and deadly man and a lot about consent. I liked the way that he started to change and do things that were out of normal (but were mostly valid) to ensure safety. I loved the ending and the way that everything worked out for them both in the end. Contains a lot of mature content.

** Please note some scenes may resemble a gang rape and might trigger some readers.

Review: Seduced by the Sea Lord by Starla Night 2 of 5 stars

Seduced by the Sea Lord (Lords of Atlantis, #1)

Seduced by the Sea Lord by Starla Night
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Torun is a determined mer shifter who has gone against tradition and most of his people to come and find his soul mate in the human population. Lucy is a divorcee who is just trying to make some kind of existence while proving that sea opals exist and that she can find another one. She saves Torun from the depths and he declares that she is his soul mate. Can she accept what he is saying and can they both survive the prejudices of his people and the greed of hers?

I tried really hard to like this story but I just couldn't. I found Lucy to be very confused but also without personality and Torun was a bit too two-dimensional. I did understand it but no one explained exactly how the sea opals could be used by a cosmetic company and so I was just confused by it all. Contains some sexual content.
