Review: Duty and Desire by K.C. Wells 4 of 5 stars

Duty and Desire

Duty and Desire by K.C. Wells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gio, a creatively blocked and burned-out individual, seeks peace and inspiration at a friend's bungalow in Bora-Bora. There, they unexpectedly meet Nick, a quiet, intense, and handsome stranger who is completely unreadable. Their connection is immediate and powerful, leading to a whirlwind romance filled with laughter, longing, and deep affection. However, their paradise is shattered when Gio discovers Nick is not just an ordinary man; he's hiding from his destiny, and his past is about to reclaim him. Nick disappears without warning, leaving Gio heartbroken. When Gio uncovers the truth about Nick's identity and his world, they are faced with a difficult choice: abandon the love they found or fight for a relationship that Nick's world deems impossible. Despite their intentions, fate and love prove to be beyond their control.

This story was full of powerful emotions as the two men met, fell in love and then struggled with the implications and limitations of the real world. The other characters were well placed and written. The letters were very emotional and could bring you some tears. I loved the ending and that change was possible although it happen a little too fast. This was an MM story with mature content.
