Review: Hollis by Ashley James 4 of 5 stars

Hollis

Hollis by Ashley James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Hollis finds himself living next door to Ford Wesley—his best friend’s broody, newly divorced boss and the fire chief of Wolf Creek—he sees an irresistible opportunity. Ford is older, mysterious, and finally single, and Hollis is more than ready to make a move. Their connection ignites unexpectedly through a dating app, where Ford, under an anonymous profile, begins exchanging steamy messages with Hollis—fully aware of who he’s talking to. What starts as a secret, no-strings fling quickly turns into a passionate entanglement that spills from the bedroom into the firehouse and beyond. But with Hollis resistant to commitment and Ford fresh from heartbreak, their blazing chemistry risks burning out. As feelings deepen and boundaries blur, they must decide whether their fiery connection is just a temporary spark—or the beginning of something lasting.

I loved this sizzling and emotionally charged story of forbidden attraction, anonymous desire, and the tension between freedom and vulnerability. I loved that everyone knew what was happening and that they were not as subtle as they thought they were.  It was also fun to read their realisation that they were in love with each other. A very enjoyable story which will make you smile. This was an MM story with mature content.
