Review: The Incubus's Assistant by Amy Padilla 3 of 5 stars

The Incubus's Assistant

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Avery thought his temp job would be routine—until a very compromising moment with his new boss, Ozen, leaves him breathless and intrigued. Determined to stay professional, Avery volunteers to step in when Ozen’s assigned feeder quits, offering help in the name of good office etiquette… and maybe a little curiosity. Ozen, a supernatural being who makes questionable choices when hungry, is grateful for Avery’s calm and competence. But as their feeder-assistant arrangement deepens, so does the tension between them. What starts as a practical solution quickly becomes something far more intimate, and both men must decide whether they can keep things strictly professional… or give in to the hunger between them.

I enjoyed this story of accidental chemistry, supernatural cravings, and the delicious chaos of mixing business with pleasure. I enjoyed the descriptions of working in an environment with supernatural beings and the problems that occur. I did find the knowledge that seemed to be missing about something so important a bit farcical that detracted from the story. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
