My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Taylin, cast out for being Divergent but saved by one brave act and a loving adoptive family, returns home just as his parents retire — putting him directly in the path of Hollis, the man he’s secretly wanted for years. Hollis has never shown interest, but with shifting roles and new closeness, the question becomes whether he’ll finally see what’s been in front of him all along.
This was a lovely story built around a connection that everyone around them could see long before the two men were ready to admit it themselves. Watching them slowly accept what was so obvious to everyone else made their journey feel warm and satisfying. I especially adored the Starling brothers, their parents, and the wonderfully chaotic dynamic between all the PAs — every interaction was a source of amusement and added so much charm to the story. Their collective refusal to tolerate abuse or the misuse of power gave the book a strong moral backbone that made the world feel safe and supportive. Overall, it was an easy story to read, feel, and understand, with a heartfelt romance at its centre and a cast of characters who made the experience even richer. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.
